Anybody else get a queezy feeling Friday night watching the South Panola/Meridian game when they flashed up that Tyler Russel would be playing in the Allstar game Saturday in Mobile? As much as I like to win that thing, why would the Gatorade player of the year risk it? That game has cost State a few times in the past, I hope that I'm just being paranoid.

This game use to be played at the end of summer right before college pre season started. Two things I would say, the players were not in game playing shape and this left them more valuable to injury. Now it is played at the end of the football season and they are in playing shape and even if they get hurt they have six months to recover where before they were out for the new season..

So I am not too worried. Not like I use to be.

for a couple of reasons.

(1) clarence mcdougal. coco hodge. etc.

(2) if russell is on the verge of decommitting, and looks really good in this game, he will be FLOODED with attention from everyone. he is already getting attention - the last thing we need is a huge performance in this game...

in this game. Especially Burdette. Conner will wind up at LSU or OM. Burdette is a tweener as far as size, but he hits like a Mack truck. If we had a spot, I'd certainly gamble on him as a SS/OLB. Dude's a baller.
