I live in Louisville and you should be concerned with what Louisville is accomplishing.
Over the past twenty years, Louisville athletics have advanced at a steady pace. The number of Louisville fans has increased, with the number of Kentucky fans decreasing. In my opinion the Kentucky fans are older and aren't being replaced with younger fans.
Louisville is considered a more appealing choice and their fanbase is increasing.

Maybe during fball season, the UL fandom increases amongst fair weathered KY fans. Not during basketball. Still roughly what? 90 percent of the state bleeds blue?

You're assuming admins at UK care about winning football. 30 straight losses to UF(and being humiliated by CBS talking heads on national TV) says NO, 29 out of 30 losses to UT says NO, 7 straight to Miss St says NO, 5 in a row and counting to UL says NO, 4 out of 5 to Vandy says NO. If those embarrassments and humiliations can't get you motivated to build a program UL's current success won't cause a ripple to them.

They will care soon if they don't already b/c football pays the bills. Football is america's sport. When the season ticket base withers up and dies, they'll care.

LouievileKat, if you truly believe that then you have your head in the sand.I grew up in the south end of Jefferson county and it was Kentucky territory, nowadays there is as many Louisville as Kentucky fans. They are being brought up as Louisville fans and its all about perception. At my work, we are outnumbered 40 to 10, fifteen years ago it was reversed. These aren't fair weather fans these are Louisville fans for life.

My dad passed away Thursday night... one of our last conversations was how Barnhart has to go along with Stoops.

He was 87 so he saw many years of UK Football. He told me nothing will change because it never has.

He didn't like Petrino but knew he would win at UK.

We both wanted Stoops to succeed but we never have seen any indication that's going to happen.

What matters to me is that we have problems , not that Louisville is having success . Louisville has nothing to do with us , you're only making yourself mad for nothing . I'm watching back to the future on amc , not upset at all . This won't be fixed shortly , don't kill yourself .
Don't we play Louisville every year? So their success has a direct effect on our problems.

You have no idea what my emotional state is, but one should always learn from past events. We warned Mitch and his sycophants that not hiring Petrino would come back to bite us, and it has and it will continue to.

Then go give BP a bj and be a Louisville fan , one game a year but you cry all year and offseason about UL . It's a back to the future marathon on amc , you should check it out . The doc just came back to warn Jennifer and Marty about their future .

cite evidence. I doubt it's that high. overplaying the basketball card is something UK excels at.

They recruit mostly Florida , we recruit primarily in Ohio . The in state kids are far and few between , certainly the minority . Corporations , ha ha . It matters because your UL friends , neighbors , co workers talk ish to you and it burns you up .

No evidence, just a hunch. I don't live in state anymore unfortunately but I can't imagine UL is that close to closing the gap with UK in the number of in state fans.

Obviously there's more of a buzz around fball season than basketball for UL.

So, UK being a colossal failure doesn't bother you? Interesting.

I've always said that apathy is far worse than anger.

I wanted him instead of Stupes but wonder if he wouldn't have taken the UL job the next year anyway.

Of course he would. That UofL job has so many more advantages than the UK job. It's such a peach I don't know how anyone could turn it down. They play in a better conference, have a bigger fanbase, have better facilities, have a better recruiting base, have more tradition. All of the biggies. He probably would've left two weeks into the season to take that juggernaut of a job if it came open. Same with Brohm. He'd probably leave UK after an hour as coach to go lead that vaunted UofL program into battle. That's one of the two or three best jobs in the nation. Those UofL guys are loyal to that school, so much so that they'd make a lateral move from an SEC school to an ACC school with zero advantages simply because they're "UofL" guys. Someone told me they sleep with a UofL pillow under their head every night and would leave a job with Alabama if the UofL job came open.

But we as fans keep buying the tickets every time a new coach is hired. They sell us on hope, plain and simple.

What it will take to change is for our fans NOT to come back until there is something better on the field. Rather than the fanbase using hope for its approach, it needs to take a show me approach.

You said UofL recruits mostly in Florida, he proved you wrong, you changed the subject and accused him of being obsessed with UofL.

Did I get it right?
Yea I'm not an expert on all things Louisville , their skilled players seem to come from out of state but you guys know a lot more about UL than I ever will .

I'm on this board for UK , I don't care what UL does . If they win the title it doesn't matter to me , you guys are obsessed with UL and I'm just having fun with it .
No, you're on this board for the UK ADMINISTRATION, not the football program.
