AN EXCERPT:

First, understand WVU’s toughest test probably won’t be Iowa State or Kansas, but Virginia, which the Mountaineers play at Madison Square Garden. (Does Huggins have stones or what?) The Cavaliers have won the Atlantic Coast Conference in back-to-back seasons and are No. 1 in the early preseason rankings produced by Sports Illustrated and the Sporting News.

The reason is, although Justin Anderson is off to the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, All-America candidate Malcolm Brogdon is back for Virginia, along with virtually every other major contributor from last season’s 30-4 team. Mark Dec. 8 on your calendar.

disagree with Vingle in this case. Virginia will be good. A chance at a big time signature win on a neutral floor.

But you don't lose Justin Anderson and somehow become better and No. 1 in the land. I'd rank UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Iowa State & defending champ Duke ahead of Virginia.

until knocked off their perch, at Kansas will always be the toughest game on the schedule. this coming KU team is loaded with experience + talent.

11 straight Big XII titles, an underrated decade plus run of dominance.

Virginia's got a great system and I think they'll be fine without Anderson. I agree that he's a great player but he was banged up for a good bit of last year anyway.

Don't forget that Iowa St lost The Mayor. Great coach - it'll be interesting to see how the transition goes.

Virginia lost Justin Anderson for half the season last year............... and brings back his replacement Marial Shayok (4pts, 2 rebounds) for his sophomore season. No, Shayok is not Anderson, yet............. but he had some pretty good games last year while Anderson was injured.

9pts, 5 rebound vs. Maryland

9pts, 5 rebounds vs Miami

7pts vs ND

7pts, 6 rebounds vs FSU

7pts, 3 rebounds vs UNC

Shayok was a guy Huggins tried to steal from Marquette back in 2013. Once Buzz split for VT, Shayok switched over to UVA
