WVU commit Christopher Talley named to Memphis' Dandy Dozen

West Virginia running back commit Christopher Talley has earned another accolade heading into his senior season.
Talley was selected to the Commercial Appeal’s annual Dandy Dozen, which highlights the top 12 high school football seniors in the Memphis area. The list includes players committed to programs such as Auburn, Wisconsin, Memphis, Michigan State, and now, West Virginia.
Selections are based on a combination of factors, including on-field production, film evaluation, accolades, recruiting attention, and input from area coaches and scouts. Players will be featured individually throughout the coming weeks, with rankings revealed as the series unfolds.
Talley, who stars at Whitehaven High School, has already built an impressive resume. A two-time state champion and record holder in the 110-meter hurdles, he’s coming off his second straight 1,000-yard rushing season. In 2023, he ran for 1,543 yards and 18 touchdowns on just 163 carries, helping lead Whitehaven to a 6-4 record.
The 6-foot, 170-pound back is ranked as the No. 18 overall player in Tennessee and the No. 37 running back nationally by Rivals. He took official visits to Memphis, Cincinnati, and Georgia Tech before committing to West Virginia in June.
Talley is one of 25 commitments in the Mountaineers’ 2026 recruiting class.
WVU ties to other Dandy Dozen selections
West Virginia has also been active with other members of the Dandy Dozen. The program offered Germantown defensive lineman Djidjou Bah, who is now committed to Wisconsin, as well as Lake Cormorant defensive back Raderrion Daniels, a Purdue pledge. Germantown wide receiver Tre’von McGory also held an offer from the Mountaineers before committing to Western Kentucky.
