What's everyone's thoughts? Mitchell will have more experience, but Erwin is a 3aa school, they should have enough talent and depth, not to mention home field, to win right?

I watched the Erwin/Murphy scrimmage and I feel Mitchell will take this one in a close game if they can pressure the QB and not let the receivers get behind them on the deep ball. I think Mitchell’s line will get the job done
Good to know. I'd say Mitchell's line is only 2nd to Murphy's in 1a this year. With Muhgerbil (spelling I know) being the difference. Although Mitchell has a hog of their own who has grown about 3 inches and dropped 15-20lbs in the offseason. 6-6 and 295, he looks much more trim and his speed has picked up a little too. Still no Muhgerbil tho.
You have most all of your players back this year and Murphy & Robbinsville are loaded also. It’s going to be a interesting game when these teams meet up in the playoffs. To early and to close to call who will represent the 1A West. It’s so close that I think the ones with the least injuries will come out on top
Mitchell by 10. Mitchell's kicker will be the difference..I would love to see this game .Erwin is a great place to watch a game .I don't know if Mitchell has ever played at Erwin..I do expect MItchell to win ,but it would not surprise me one bit if Erwin won...good luck to both teams..
Yes, Mitchell has played twice at Erwin twice, 1995 and year before last. They won both games.

Mitchell by 7... Erwin will probably be the fastest team that Mitchell plays all regular season, but Mitchell might be one of the toughest that Erwin plays all regular season. Great opening game!
End of the 1st quarter 0-0 Mitchell has been in the red zone twice, but Erwin's d has held. The warriors haven't advanced past midfield

Mitchell came out looking jittery on offense. They looked nervous and made mistakes, which led to more mistakes. 4 fumbled turnovers to be exact, 3 inside the 5 yard line. The defense played lights out. Erwin had plenty of speed in the backfield, but they only had maybe 3 plays over 10 yards the whole game. 2nd half, Mitchell controlled the clock for almost the entire 3rd quarter, driving to a touchdown without Noah Pitman. Defense continued to flex their muscle. Our new linebackers were MEAN. 4th quarter, complete dominance. Erwin had no answer after the Mountaineers found their rhythm. Erwin will likely get better as the season progresses, likely finish 3rd or so in the conference.

I believe Erwin may be in for a long season. Mitchell shooting themselves in the foot was the only reason it was as close as it was , like mountie stated 4 fumbles one on the Erwin 4, one one the Erwin 1 and then the only reason Erwin scored because Mitchell fumbled on thier own 13. But what surprised me was I heard about Erwin's speed which I was concerned about but Mitchell looked quicker to me. I was also concerned about kicking after the good kicker Mitchell had last year graduated but not after tonight. I know one thing first game and warm weather there was a lot of boys legs cramping on both sides.
Yeah I figured that out today, I was given bad info at the game.
