I really hope Mitchell goes big would be nice to face a different team in the playoffs this year. However I would definitely have them ahead of MA and MIC by a fairly good margin along with Swain.Would be interesting to see new faces for a round or to. Unless Mitchell ends up with Polk and Avery in the playoffs. Still think Mitchell can make a run in either 1a or 1aa. In 1a I would have them behind Robbinsville and potentially Murphy depending on location and injuries. In 1aa most definitely behind ES and equal with Swain, Mt. Airy and MICS. Would not look forward to a Polk rematch. Could be some very interesting matchups this post season.
Go Mountaineers
If Mitchell goes 1AA, I think it will be an easier road to the Western Finals but it will be a long shot to win it all. If they go 1A, the west will be brutal with Robbinsville and Murphy. The 1A West winner will be the state champs.
Dang $10 from 1986, at 3% interest, compounded annually comes out to $35.65!I agree... Plus on a personal selfish note if Mitchell was to lose to Murphy or Robbinsville the jabbing I'd get would be just on here. But If Mitchell was to lose to East Surry though my first cousin and his family live there and his children went to East Surry and he son played there who'd I never here the end of it from, especially since I sometimes still remind him that he still owes me $10 from the last time they played.
I for one are hoping Mitchell goes 1A. It would make for some even greater football in the West. Good luck either wayHonestly I'd just assume Mitchell be 1aa as 1a. 1a holds that blessed SMC, and they beat Mitchell even when they shouldn't. I wouldn't mind seeing the greatest show on turf, or seeing how Mitchell stacks up against East Surry. Even have a crack at Tarboro. You know what they say, to be the man, you gotta beat the man...

You better cash in!
I knew our numbers were gonna be in the high 400s from early on so I got agitated at a Mitchell poster who kept saying we could be 1AA. I said Mitchell would be 1A for a fact. Fact is I didn’t realize the number of schools smaller than Mitchell qualifying. Fact is I’m a dumbass and apologize to whoever said we would be 1AA. I never expected 489 to be 1AA.
I mean, I'm good either way, I think Mitchell can go 4th round or state in either class. I really think Robbinsville might be every bit as strong as East Surry...I for one are hoping Mitchell goes 1A. It would make for some even greater football in the West. Good luck either way
I would like to know this answer myself. I looked at the "First 5 out" list and the only teams there with a higher ADM than Mitchell was Riverside and Cherryville and neither has a good look at an upset. I don't know who the next five out are or if any of them could make 1AA, but those were the only ones I could see because I was relying on the skills of others.Besides HowerinJr 2 miracle upsets is there any other way Mitchell could drop?

CSOD moving in, and Louisberg or South Stanly dropping out would kick East Surry to the east, giving Mitchell the #1 seed...I agree. Looking at the adjusted rankings the only bigger team below top 45 ( 3 will get in because of conference standings) Community School of Davidson is the only bigger school that looks like could get in but they don't affect Mitchell , looks like wether their in or out affects were Gates goes. But I may be missing something.

That would be wild.. Just saw someone say that at the end of their game last night that Bear Grass Charter announced they will not be participating in the playoffs.
The 1st three out right now are Union, Weldon and Rosman. All are 1A size. There would have to be a team larger than Mitchell to move into any playoff spot vacated, which is why I mentioned the upset possibilities earlier.Would that mean Mitchell moves back down to 1a?
Negative . Not close.I mean, I'm good either way, I think Mitchell can go 4th round or state in either class. I really think Robbinsville might be every bit as strong as East Surry...
Question for bracketologists, Atlantic 6 football is only Bear Grass Charter and Columbia. If Bear Grass Charter declines, does Columbia become eligible? Would they decline as well? Also, how to Tier 2's work for split conferences?
Which Part isnt close? Mitchell not going deep, or Robbinsville being as good as East Surry?Negative . Not close.
Robbinsville is not nearly as good as East Surry. East is bigger and deeper with more athletes. No knock on Robbinsville, because they are a quality team, but East would be too much for them.Which Part isnt close? Mitchell not going deep, or Robbinsville being as good as East Surry?
It has nothing to do with being from Murphy. East is a different animal this year than they typically are. He's from Murphy so probably talking about Rville

I think this is right, with this weeks rankings and conference standings
Both are smaller than Mitchell. If anything, that might be enough to push Union into the mix, which means you would need two teams larger than Mitchell to qualify to move them down to 1A.I just noticed that Union beat Lakewood last night 32-14.

There is a better shot of East Surry going East than Mitchell moving down. Both are smaller than Mitchell. If anything, that might be enough to push Union into the mix, which means you would need two teams larger than Mitchell to qualify to move them down to 1A.
