It's time to go back to the way it was, where it didn't mean anything. We can all admit that it's important to win the game. I think the last 5 winners have won the World Series. With a game having that much impact it shouldn't be filled with all the hoorah and ovations. I think it's too important a game for guys to not be focused. Which is what happened to my boy Wayno. I love the excitement of the game. Jeter deserved all the attention he deserved last night. It is cool to be able to step back and admire, but not while the game is so important.

Completely agree that the All Star game should not decide home field, but I don't think home field has meant much over those past 5 years. In 2011, it was pretty important as the home teams won 5 of the 7 games. But the other 4 years, each eventual champion won 2 games on the road. The home teams were just 11-10 so home field basically meant nothing.

Just leave it as is. At least the result has some meaning now and I don't think the location of one game in the World Series should stop anyone from winning it if they are truly the better team. Makes as much sense as randomly altering from one league to the other every year which is what you would go back to. I don't see it as a big deal really.

I don't think it means everything but to just brush homefield is too much. It's an advantage. However small you may believe. It's an advantage. In the biggest series of the year. The all star game impacts that game. It shouldn't.
