Looks like we are seeing a huge drop off in power numbers with the drop in steroid use and the random drug testing going on in MLB. Almost all offensive power leaders had their lowest league leading numbers in 15+ years this year. AL HR leader: 37 hr, slugging percentage, total bases, runs etc. It is interesting (to me) to see these numbers drop so drastically, especially related to the people who said things like "Steroids aren't helping people, you either have the hand/eye coordination to hit a baseball or you don't".

Also, old *** Chipper Jones led the league in batting this year. One bright spot in an otherwise abysmal season for the Braves.

p.s. Go Dodgers.

ESPN was scrolling the AL HR leaders along the bottom #1-10 and I thought they were doing #11-20 when I saw the numbers. It's blatantly obvious how huge an impact the steroids and other PE's had. 37 HR's 4 or 5 years ago would've been an average year.

Good to see Chipper proving everyone who said he was washed up wrong. The injuries are killing the Braves the last 2 years. I think the loss of Mazzone has had a big impact - we never had injury problems on the pitching staff when he was running the show. Now, they are rampant.

Brutius could have been the pitching coach for Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, and the best reliever who ever lived, Senor Smoke. Ole!

I could sit in the dugout and rock back and forth, send in Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz, and Steve Avery every 5 days. Ah the good ole days of baseball....back when the Cubs sucked and the Braves did not.

When is Senor Smoke getting inducted into the HOF? Hopefully next year!!!!!! I think he and Al Hrabosky should go in together.

I don't really keep up with baseball anymore, but I about had a heart attack when I saw Cito Gaston is managing the Jays aGAIN. I felt like it was 1992 all over.
