In engineering with height you get range. You see the exact opposite with the 4 seam fastball. It’s the fastest pitch thrown, and has to be to get very little drop.

You hafta remember that those guns don’t measure speed at 60 feet, but just long enough out of the pitchers hand to disrupt radar. So you’re talking about doing 30 mph for a brief instant out of his hand, slowing down with every millisecond it travels toward home plate without added propulsion. The gas pedal makes the cops radar guns much much less deceiving.
