I predict that the Yankees will not be participating.

Note: This post was carefully hand-crafted and precisely executed for the exclusive purpose of reminding @Kooky Kats that this year's Yankees did NOT make the playoffs…despite the 27 WS rings that their pin-striped forefathers accumulated in the past mostly because they were able to outspend the other MLB organizations and most of which were won a long, long, long time ago.

Cubs vs Indians

The series I want to see. Just because both teams have been bad for so long. As long as the Rangers lose I will be happy.

That's what you get for going 38-43 at home. :flushed: Cards couldn't hang with the Cubs regardless but I still wanted the guys to get a shot. Oh well, is what it is.

another year, another playoff where the cubs don't win the world series. that is life.

and for whoever said the cards go 5 games under at home, so this what you get. well they were 8 freaking games under before the last series. that is pure horse poop. but they didn't have the pitching to make any real noise anyway.

i got the Rangers vs. the cubbies. and the cubbies don't disappoint. will find a memorable way to choke it away and all will be right in the baseball world once again.

I'm not saying this because I'm a St. Louis fan but I'll never buy the cubs until I've seen it. They're the U.K. Football of MLB. Seriously. The last time they won it all

A veteran team like SF in a short series scares me a lot for the Cubs.

I'm just not sold that mentally we can weather a bad storm and fight through it.

Also I like Toronto to make it from the AL.

And . .. there had never been a World War, Hawaii and Alaska were territories, the Kaiser ruled Germany, and the Czar ruled Russia (although I would say things really haven't changed there)

Cubs lose the World Series on a walk off HR with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th because you know, Cubs......,and I'm one of the biggest Cubs fan on this board

Get real. You're just trying to reverse jinx this thing. I hate the Cubs, so I'm sure they'll win it going away.

Alaska actually wasn't a territory until 1911.

Buck Showalter is a dumbass. Leaving his closer, who just so happens to be one of the best closers of all time statistically, in the bullpen!

They could have lost the game multiple times without even having their best pitcher see the field. Baseball managers are not smart.

UPDATE: [roll]

I bet TV was not happy that both NY teams are not in playoffs. Not good for ratings, to say the least. They have to be pulling for Cubs in WS, instead of SF v. Cleveland or Toronto.
