So we’re hiring family members to get 4 star commitments now? My God we’re a joke.
Lmfao this is a great hire! Some of these posters are literally INSUFFERABLE!Do you think a big time point guard is coming to Kentucky now????? This sums up our fate with his son as the point guard. Atleast we beat out Jackson State for his son.
What a joke this program has become![]()
“Sent from my ipad”This is a great hire. The younger generation will love having a NBA all-star and teammate of Lebron come sit in their living room and explain to them how they plan on being used at UK. Mason and his dad know that UK is looking at bringing in 3 point guards. Mason knows that he is the long term project and the other guards will be the primary and backup point guard.
The biggest difference is that Mo Williams actually had success in the NBA, Jason Hart did not. I had to look up Jason Hart when he was first hired because I couldn't remember who he was. Mo Williams has immediate name recognition, at least for me.That's exactly why I just asked the question about whether this should be considered an upgrade or downgrade. I legitimately don't know.
What makes this a great hire? He's 18 games UNDER .500 in his career. It's not like he is bringing a superstar with him.Lmfao this is a great hire! Some of these posters are literally INSUFFERABLE!
His record before Jackson St is even worse. Six seasons as a head coach, every single one with a losing record.Looking at Mo’s coaching record I can’t believe Jackson St not putting up a bigger fight to keep him.![]()
That's the concern. Hired dad to get a 4-star? Oof.The question is, did Pope have to agree to this package deal to get a single player to sign up?
Several have wanted him to fail since day one as they didn't want him hired and want to tell everybody how right they were. Yes, there are grown adults that actually act like this.Yeah we just hired a no body father to get his son to commit.
He’s not a well known name and former player in the NBA with coaching experience or anything.
Most uneducated fanbase on planet earth..![]()
Recruiting. He’s a former NBA All Star and NBA champ. That’s the way I’m looking at it. Y’all can be miserable all you want. What makes this a great hire? He's 18 games UNDER .500 in his career. It's not like he is bringing a superstar with him.
That’s precisely what it is.Several have wanted him to fail since day one as they didn't want him hired and want to tell everybody how right they were. Yes, there are grown adults that actually act like this.
Everybody in the CBB world knows what's happening. This dude was 8th, 8th, 4th, 5th, 2nd and 5th in conference finishes at freaking Alabama St and Jackson St. His previous experience to those head coaching jobs was as an assistant at Cal Northridge. Here's the question you have to ask yourself...Would this dude be hired if he didn't have a 4-star kid? The obvious answer is no. Now, if his kid were Michael Porter (Cuonzo hired his dad when he inked him) then I could see it. But man, this is desperation personified.I dont love this. Dont love this package deal with a recruit who might be here for a year, with his dad coaching who might also only be here for a year if Pope gets fired. We are either getting a coach who isnt good enough on merits, or a player who isnt. I bet one seems to be carrying the other.
This feels like a hail Mary pass that never made it to the end zone.
But im willing to change my stance, hope im proven wring.
DukelosesLOL-DAD CAN WE GO BACK TO JACKSON STAT...
-SILENCE SON, THAT DOOFU...I MEAN HEAD BALL COACH POPE IS PAYING US GOOD MONEY TO BE HERE

Who has he recruited?Recruiting. He’s a former NBA All Star and NBA champ. That’s the way I’m looking at it. Y’all can be miserable all you want.
How did it help him at Alabama St and Jackson St? I think this is vastly overrated. I know this is going to sound shocking, but this seems like a massive overreaction from Pope. Mo Williams has never once proven to be an elite college recruiter. This isn't that. Mo Williams played 14 years in the NBA, made the All Star Team and won an NBA Championship. He is the catch not his son, this type of high profile NBA Career helps in the recruiting circles. Now let's see who he can land for us in the Portal. Could Jamal Crawford be next? I know some say that was only rumors but I believe it to be more than that and there is interest.
Who has Mo Williams developed? Who has he recruited? All of you guys talking about Mo's coaching record have missed the boat. He's not going to be a head coach. He's going to recruit and develop players. Kenny Payne is a great example of a guy who is awesome with player relationships and getting the best out of them, but sucked as a head coach. I'm happy to give the guy a chance.
Gotdamn! Do I gotta draw yall a picture?’ He’s a former NBA ALL STAR AND WORLD CHAMP! That goes a long way either kids theses days.Who has he recruited?
Great hire

Underwhelming.
It’s not thoughThat’s precisely what it is.
Yeah, cause you know that Alabama St. and Jackson St. are always loaded with 5-Star talent...How did it help him at Alabama St and Jackson St? I think this is vastly overrated. I know this is going to sound shocking, but this seems like a massive overreaction from Pope. Mo Williams has never once proven to be an elite college recruiter.
They didn't seem to at Alabama St and Jackson St, where he won at about a 45% clip. He's never, ever recruited to a P5 school. Ever. And now we're gonna try to sell him as a recruiter? Can't make this stuff up.For the people who follow recruiting more than me, is this an upgrade or downgrade from what we had? I know who Mo is, but do recruits care? Genuine question.
Lmao with some people, it absolutely is!It’s not though
Exactly! Hire Stokes dad if you’re going to hire someone.Other schools hire people to be assistant coaches to get top five players in the country. Pope does it for a guy that’s not in the top 100
LMAO ALABAMA STATE, JACKSON STATE, BUTTHOLE STATE!They didn't seem to at Alabama St and Jackson St, where he won at about a 45% clip. He's never, ever recruited to a P5 school. Ever. And now we're gonna try to sell him as a recruiter? Can't make this stuff up.
Was an nba veteran with an nba championship ring. I don’t see how that’s a bad person to have on staffI love this place.
Several have wanted him to fail since day one as they didn't want him hired and want to tell everybody how right they were. Yes, there are grown adults that actually act like this.
What makes it great?Lmfao this is a great hire! Some of these posters are literally INSUFFERABLE!
It's not about his development or what he did at Alabama State or Jackson State, it's about the NBA connections. You aren't pulling elite recruits to where he was, at Kentucky you definitely can.Who has Mo Williams developed? Who has he recruited?
