It could also be the opposite. Some love Pope and ues the one of us line and don't want to admit they are wrong.Lmao with some people, it absolutely is!

Jason Hart played in the NBA…. Mo Williams last played in the NBA, 10 years ago. His all star season was 15 years ago. The kids he’s recruiting will have no idea who he is. You think it’s a good hire, because it’s a “sexy name”. Another under qualified hire at UK. Just like Mark Pope was. But former player/sexy name made many think we just hired Dan Hurley. What has Mo Williams done? Who has he recruited? Again, I ask. What qualifies him to coach at UK? We are talking fliers on guys now, hoping they will be good assistants.Gotdamn! Do I gotta draw yall a picture?’ He’s a former NBA ALL STAR AND WORLD CHAMP! That goes a long way either kids theses days.
But what about posters like myself who really liked the hire initially thinking pope would do fantastic here and turns out I was wrong. That’s precisely what it is.
Because he's literally never been an asset to any college basketball program as a coach. Not P5 or any other level. He's never done the job he's being asked to do, and he's being asked to do it for the first time at the UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY. That's an issue. Why are so many against this hire? Guy that was a good player in the nba, would have to be an asset to the program
THIS!It's not about his development or what he did at Alabama State or Jackson State, it's about the NBA connections. You aren't pulling elite recruits to where he was, at Kentucky you definitely can.
I’m pretty sure jack pilgrim posted something about him being comfortable where he’s at right now, it was in the thread about him the other daySource?
It’s really not.Lmao with some people, it absolutely is!
Are you an 18 yr old basketball player? If not, yeah, doesn't matter. The biggest difference is that Mo Williams actually had success in the NBA, Jason Hart did not. I had to look up Jason Hart when he was first hired because I couldn't remember who he was. Mo Williams has immediate name recognition, at least for me.
Lmfao was Jason Hart a former All Star and World Champ?! That also won said Championship alongside LeBron James?! I don’t like LeBron, but that’s a different story for another day.Jason Hart played in the NBA…. Mo Williams last played in the NBA, 10 years ago. His all star season was 15 years ago. The kids he’s recruiting will have no idea who he is. You think it’s a good hire, because it’s a “sexy name”. Another under qualified hire at UK. Just like Mark Pope was. Then you don’t fall into that category. Many do, however. But what about posters like myself who really liked the hire initially thinking pope would do fantastic here and turns out I was wrong.
Yeah. Said he liked Pope but he is happy coaching his kid who I believe is just 14 right now.I’m pretty sure jack pilgrim posted something about him being comfortable where he’s at right now, it was in the thread about him the other day
At Memphis?!People smoke so much Pope Dope they will convince themselves this was a good hire.
Mike Miller had a better NBA career than Mo Williams and we see how much that helped Penny Hardaway.
Meh. You can continue to say that. Doesn’t make it true. It’s really not.
You serious if so whyUnderwhelming.
you act like JSU has been a good team in over. DECADEWhat makes this a great hire? He's 18 games UNDER .500 in his career. It's not like he is bringing a superstar with him.
That's you creating a narrative. I think a TON are just like me. Hated the hire. Hated it. Want him to succeed, not because he's Mark Pope, but because he's the head coach of my favorite team. Are there some weirdo extremists? Sure. Both directions. I hope Mark Pope gets to a FF next year and proves me wrong. But I've said it before, hope is a really bad strategy.Several have wanted him to fail since day one as they didn't want him hired and want to tell everybody how right they were. Yes, there are grown adults that actually act like this.
It’s unreal. Like I said, insufferable!I give up smh I figured having an nba veteran as an assistant coach could be a good thing.
Mo Williams is pulling guys to UK, because he was an NBA all-star, when guys were 2 years old? Are we serious? Again, what qualifies Mo Williams to coach at UK? We need proven assistants, instead, we take fliers. It's not about his development or what he did at Alabama State or Jackson State, it's about the NBA connections. You aren't pulling elite recruits to where he was, at Kentucky you definitely can.
Exactly. Mo Williams and Jason Hart is no comparison. None.He can probably help our guards in practice. Coached in Alabama and Mississippi so likely has some good ties around the South. Maybe he can help bring in some recruits from there.
Jason Hart was an NBA journeyman, his claim to fame was coaching a defunct G League team and he didn't do anything of substance here. Let's give him a shot before complaining over and over and over.
Will need a waiver for another year.I just saw Jackson State point guard and SWAC player of the year Deshaun Ruffin 23 points a game scorer, hit the transfer portal. Might he follow his head coach to Kentucky also? He starts while Mason develops.
You continuing to say people want pope to fail just to be right doesn’t make it true either. I don’t think a single fan on here WANTS him to fail, they just don’t see him succeedingMeh. You can continue to say that. Doesn’t make it true.
He's never done it before. What makes you think he can do it now? For the first time in his coaching career? At UK? That's the issue. UK shouldn't be hiring guys that are UNKNOWNS at the job they're being asked to do.Recruiting. He’s a former NBA All Star and NBA champ. That’s the way I’m looking at it. Y’all can be miserable all you want.
We won a title 10 years ago. LMAOMo Williams is pulling guys to UK, because he was an NBA all-star, when guys were 2 years old? Are we serious? Again, what qualifies Mo Williams to coach at UK? We need proven assistants, instead, we take fliers.
Coach friend of mine like this hire a lot, fwiw. Why are so many against this hire? Guy that was a good player in the nba, would have to be an asset to the program
Me and you have agreed a lot over the years. At Memphis?!![]()
I’ve literally saw people post that they hope we lose and tank. You can’t be serious. You continuing to say people want pope to fail just to be right doesn’t make it true either. I don’t think a single fan on here WANTS him to fail, they just don’t see him succeeding
maybe we hired the coach and he brought his son alongSo we’re hiring family members to get 4 star commitments now? My God we’re a joke.
This right here.....It's not about his development or what he did at Alabama State or Jackson State, it's about the NBA connections. You aren't pulling elite recruits to where he was, at Kentucky you definitely can.
