Gotdamn! Do I gotta draw yall a picture?’ He’s a former NBA ALL STAR AND WORLD CHAMP! That goes a long way either kids theses days.
Jason Hart played in the NBA…. Mo Williams last played in the NBA, 10 years ago. His all star season was 15 years ago. The kids he’s recruiting will have no idea who he is. You think it’s a good hire, because it’s a “sexy name”. Another under qualified hire at UK. Just like Mark Pope was. But former player/sexy name made many think we just hired Dan Hurley. What has Mo Williams done? Who has he recruited? Again, I ask. What qualifies him to coach at UK? We are talking fliers on guys now, hoping they will be good assistants.

It would be nice if all these new hires would jump on a radio show outside of the JMI walled garden and speak directly to the fanbase get to know them. Why so secretive? Has Keegan Brown done one interview since being hired?

Why are so many against this hire? Guy that was a good player in the nba, would have to be an asset to the program
Because he's literally never been an asset to any college basketball program as a coach. Not P5 or any other level. He's never done the job he's being asked to do, and he's being asked to do it for the first time at the UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY. That's an issue.

The biggest difference is that Mo Williams actually had success in the NBA, Jason Hart did not. I had to look up Jason Hart when he was first hired because I couldn't remember who he was. Mo Williams has immediate name recognition, at least for me.
Are you an 18 yr old basketball player? If not, yeah, doesn't matter.

Lmfao was Jason Hart a former All Star and World Champ?! That also won said Championship alongside LeBron James?! I don’t like LeBron, but that’s a different story for another day.

I have no idea if this is a good or bad hire, but I’m willing to give it a chance since Pope isn’t going anywhere next season. Maybe we get a portal stud or two because of him.

He can probably help our guards in practice. Coached in Alabama and Mississippi so likely has some good ties around the South. Maybe he can help bring in some recruits from there.

Jason Hart was an NBA journeyman, his claim to fame was coaching a defunct G League team and he didn't do anything of substance here. Let's give him a shot before complaining over and over and over.

Several have wanted him to fail since day one as they didn't want him hired and want to tell everybody how right they were. Yes, there are grown adults that actually act like this.
That's you creating a narrative. I think a TON are just like me. Hated the hire. Hated it. Want him to succeed, not because he's Mark Pope, but because he's the head coach of my favorite team. Are there some weirdo extremists? Sure. Both directions. I hope Mark Pope gets to a FF next year and proves me wrong. But I've said it before, hope is a really bad strategy.

Dude was actually a decent coach if you look at the conference records and not the overall records where his school was getting paid to get blown out. Plus, he has some swag which this coaching staff severely lacks.

It either works out or we get a new coach. Win-win.

It's not about his development or what he did at Alabama State or Jackson State, it's about the NBA connections. You aren't pulling elite recruits to where he was, at Kentucky you definitely can.
Mo Williams is pulling guys to UK, because he was an NBA all-star, when guys were 2 years old? Are we serious? Again, what qualifies Mo Williams to coach at UK? We need proven assistants, instead, we take fliers.

Recruiting. He’s a former NBA All Star and NBA champ. That’s the way I’m looking at it. Y’all can be miserable all you want.
He's never done it before. What makes you think he can do it now? For the first time in his coaching career? At UK? That's the issue. UK shouldn't be hiring guys that are UNKNOWNS at the job they're being asked to do.

I personally really like this hire. I don't know jack crap about the assistant coach landscape but he is an experienced coach and he was an incredible NBA player who surely has good connections.

So many illiterate fans. I bet none of these haters remember the tremendous contributions Rod Strickland made to the UK program working with our guards. Probably the most important assistant coach on staff.
An all NBA guard is so important to have on staff. Guards win in college.
Obviously can relate to young guys. I’m elated to have a have Mr Williams.
