Powell looks like a future NFL draftee to me.I saw a 2024 draft ranking of the top 300 NFL prospects in college. I believe it was from Pro Football Focus or a similar pub. RU had 2 prospects listed. Melton at #94 and Tyreem Powell at #229.
I actually disagree with this...We almost never hear his name during a game- and that is a good thing for a CB. We also get to cheat on defense because we put him 1:1 so often. Melton/Longerbeam/Dixon/Loyal/Rodgers have all shown NFL ability out there all year.Melton has slipped this year in his performance… another year would help his draft status.
Try to find his mistakes that jump off your first hand- and this is being on an island most games. Dude has actually been shutdown this year.At best. Too many mistakes . Flip much better
And a few of those PI's were complete BS...I think people overreact to the fact that like 4 or 5 times he was targeted this year the guy Melton was covering either caught a big pass or was interfered with. But nobody notices all the times he had a guy locked up. He's an NFL corner and I don't see how people don't see that.
Powell Jennings and Toure should all get a chance in a camp somewhere. There are several guys on this defense that should have solid NFL careers.I actually disagree with this...We almost never hear his name during a game- and that is a good thing for a CB. For LB's - Powell is just a baller. Jennings may be a NFL prototype size.
I think Melton is having a noticeably worse year than last year. Part of the reason is that we are always putting him on an island, and rarely giving him help over the top. He gets little to no help, and that is scheme. When he gets beat, it is for bigger gains then previous years.I actually disagree with this...We almost never hear his name during a game- and that is a good thing for a CB. Melton is a CB and Flip Dixon is a Safety. Those two positions are entirely different. CBs are destined to get beat at times and if you think Dixon hasn’t had gaffes, you are not watching. At best. Too many mistakes . Flip much better
This. Many folks are commenting on Max’s improvement and I just don’t see it.I think Melton is having a noticeably worse year than last year. I would need to see a true grade from 2022 and this year to really have evidence though.
They are actually both very good- Longerbeam may actually even be better. But, they will both be camping or drafted when their time comes.Respect Melton but Longerbeam has been better this year imho
Longerbeam absolutely deserves a shot at the next level. Great ball skills, gets lots of PBU's. He's really stepped up.Respect Melton but Longerbeam has been better this year imho
He is a 3 year starter and 4 year contributor, another year will not make him better. He is NFL bound and hopefully he has a successful career.Melton has slipped this year in his performance… another year would help his draft status.
Such a basic measure of how good a CB is yet some can’t see it even after you kindly spelled it out for them.I actually disagree with this...We almost never hear his name during a game- and that is a good thing for a CB. Forgot Iggy too...Such a basic measure of how good a CB is yet some can’t see it even after you kindly spelled it out for them.
Longerbeam and Rodgers are also both very good. Longerbeam needs to add some weight for the next level. Rodger’s has that long frame that will serve him well. I like our safeties too but completely different positions so no need to compare. Max would also be a good Safety which is why he’s so highly rated.
Ok.. he was better last season than this season so his stock wouldn’t improve by returning? okayHe is a 3 year starter and 4 year contributor, another year will not make him better. He is NFL bound and hopefully he has a successful career.
Well, you said his stock dropped by returning this year, so by your own logic he can drop ever further if he has a worse year next year.Ok.. he was better last season than this season so his stock wouldn’t improve by returning? okay
If he does leave wish him the best.
And yet, his stock has actually gone upWell, you said his stock dropped by returning this year, so by your own logic he can drop ever further if he has a worse year next year.
He is 22 and will not come back, even Schiano said he is the most physically ready player for the NFL on the defensive side.
And yet you post in a thread about one ?Mock drafts are total BS.
If he returned for next year…would his stock rise up earlier than 3rd?Once I saw a draft projection that had him going in the 3rd round I was pretty sure Max will be playing in the NFL next year.
