MoD over Jelavic..

I could do without watching Mo any at all.
It makes no sense and if we lose it won't be the refs. It will be all the missed layups and bunnies by MM, BG and MD. Never seen so many missed bunnies and why guys dont just dunk it. The other reason is Pope's rotations. I wish a journalist would call him out on his stupid rotations.
I'm not a big Mo fan, but we were getting abused on the glass with Jelly today. Needed Mo.
Mo's foul at the end though unintentional was the play of the game.
Mo first big game in a while. Need more of that.

THIS! It isn’t that hard to figure out! We were getting PUNKED on the inside! If we roll with Jelavic we most likely lose that game.
Ya I think when Pope went after Mo he had playing UT in mind. We cannot let team abuse us inside.
Mo can be frustrating but he played well enough today.

As a fellow Bennie, I’ll again say we don’t always know everything about a coach’s personnel the way the coach does. Pope pulled the right strings today and playing Mo heavy minutes was the right call.
MoD sure seems checked out as of late. Terrible body language and seems to be arguing with other players constantly.
I've been more pro Jelly lately but Mo fought his *** off in that 2nd half. I hate this go down big and claw your way back bs but it's good television i guess
He got us some big rebounds and tip outs. Just wish he’d stop forcing it on offense and play into his role. That and the negative body language. Great win tho!

Mo needs to stop trying to impress the scouts. Just stay in front of your man, block out, and hustle.
This is our team in a nutshell. If they would learn to play within their strengths and own their roles then we re a pretty well rounded team. Problem is they tend to try and do too much and become selfish at times. Oweh, Aberdeen and MoD most noticeably but Oweh and Aberdeen have begun to own it. Let’s hope Mo can follow.
Dioubate is the hardest fighting (if he were on another team we'd probably say dirtiest) guy on the team and maybe in the SEC. He'll push, shove, hold, talk sh** to anybody - and he's smart about getting away with it. He's a great guy to have if he accepts his role and is used in that role. In my mind, I think UK needs to continue to develop Jelavic as the starting PF for this season and next but Dioubate is absolutely needed.
If the game is real physical MoD is a better option than Jel, he tends to fold when they get rough. And that game in the paint was not for the faint of heart.
He's more physical and can D up way better, best choice for this type of game. Jelavic is a better option when we go up against lesser big men because he won't miss 100 bunnies though
It’s not a perfect stat because one player can’t account for everything, but it’s worth noting in this case that Mo led the team today in plus/minus at +16. Jelavic was a team worst -14 despite the relatively limited minutes. Mo’s offense wasn’t always pretty, but his physicality was what we needed in this game, and Pope pressed the right button by giving him so much run in my opinion.
Dioubate was brought in for games like this with the physicality in the SEC and being in foul trouble. 10 & 6 off the bench.
100%. This is why we brought Mo in, for games like this. We saw last year against Bama we couldn't match up with him. It's good to have a junk yard dog on your team. If JQ gets healthy, we'll have two of them.
Personally I hope they’re both gone after this season and we rebuild most of the roster. Only bringing back Moreno. Jasper. Kam Lowe (TO COMPETE WITH A TRUE PG JUST AS GOOD) Hawthorne. Maybe Chandler but as like the 3rd 2G option. Then Noah and Potter just because but we need 4/5 studs. A star caliber PG. a SG who can shoot the hell out of the ball. A stud PF. 2 backup bigs and maybe another 6’7-6’8 wing who can shoot.

Mo won us that game yesterday with his intangibles. He’s a dog. If our guys are hitting threes with Mo on the floor then there’s literally no reason to bench Mo for Jelly. If no one is hitting shots then give jelly some run to see if he can get going.

"If JQ gets healthy, we'll have two of them." We are past the middle of the season. I hate being pessimistic because it goes against my nature, but I am not expecting to see JQ anymore. He did so well against St. Johns in limited minutes, but not much in the next few games. Totally embarrassed in the Alabama game. Probably best for him to shut down and plans for NBA draft. Probably best for us to scheme and plan for the best lineups going forward with situational subbing to our team's strengths and our opponent's weaknesses. I still believe if we would use the Pitino type full court press to open games, it would motivate us and lead to us not getting behind at the start of every game. But, what do I really know? Just an old man wanting the best team ever to play better, like in the good ole days!
Zack G said it best in Rapid Reaction yesterday following the game: “In the final five minutes of the game, Mouhamed Dioubate was the best player on the floor.”
I like AJ but he is really a tall three; he defends really well on the perimeter but his post defense is still a work in progress. There are teams AJ just can't play a lot against until his post defense improves and UT is one of those teams. As for MM I started a thread about seeing how he reacted to UT's physicality and the results were mixed. UT was really a bit too strong for MM but he had some moments and will continue to improve.
The simple fact is that, at least until JQ is playing, we'll need MoD any time we play against a team with inside brutes at the four. When the team we're playing has a stretch four we'll see more AJ. This team is not a dominant team so we need all hands on deck.

Dude should forget about scouts hes got as much chance at playing in the NBA as I do and I'm 20yrs past my prime.
His lack of mins I'm having trouble seeing how he could reb in 3m in first half and 2 in the sec ....I think he played about 10m but nothing 2/3 min here and tgere,how do you get going? Also Moreno was a no show you can play yellow and MO at the same time,play the guy whos producing period .

Yeah Jelavic playing well but Tennessee was beating us up around the basket and coadh just thought we needed MO's physicality to stop some of that. Just one of those games where we needed both in their roles and it worked out. Wasnt a case of coach choosing one over the other just used both for their own purposes in this one at the same position.
Yes, I agree. I was as excited about that foul as I was with Chandler's steal. It really helped seal the game.
Yes, I jumped for joy when that foul was called. They were about to get a wide open three for the tie.
He made some huge plays in the 50/50 balls. He just needs to play the Dennis Rodman role. His offense and repeated fouling on defense was frustrating.
