Could go either way. I picked Montini last year and that didn't happen. Though Montini did manage to put up 56 on DSL a fer weeks ago. Another question. If Carmel ends up 5-4, will they have enough playoff points to get in?

Tough call. Which Mt Carmel team shows up? The one that beat Brother Rice pretty good or the one that lost to Delasalle?

Montini has not looked good on the road vs Marmion and Lake Zurich? Can they learn how to win on the road?

I give the edge to Mt Carmel because they are at home and rarely lose two in a row.

MC plays Provi in Week 9. An MC loss sets up a game with the Celtics where they could knock MC out of the playoffs two years in a row. I think Montini wins this one to set up that scenario.

The Montini - Mt. Carmel game last year was a real nail biter. Back and forth game until Montini pulled it out in the last minute with a TD. Hard fought game on both sides.
Three common opponents this year for Montini and Mt. Carmel

Mt. Carmel beat BR 49-14. Montini beat BR 29-28. Mt. Carmel beat DePaul 49-0 and Montini beat DePaul 56-0. Mt. Carmel lost to DLS 21-14 and Montini beat DLS 56-27.
Mt. Carmel has scored 186 points and given up 104 points. Montini has scored 198 points and given up 72.

Both teams played very good football teams with Mt. Carmel losing to Loyola and Montini losing to Lake Zurich.

Both teams seem to have good offenses with a slight edge to Montini
Both teams seem to have okay defenses with a slight edge to Mt. Carmel when taking in consideration the points allowed to BR and DLS.
From the common opponent standpoint this looks to be a close but higher scoring game.

This year Montini's offense is better than last year with a lot of different play makers. Defense is starting to play better as the season goes on. Montini had smaller defensive and offense lines than the majority of the teams they have played but they are quick and fast going to the ball and coming off the ball.

Except for the Lake Zurich (Montini was outplayed) and Marmion (Montini outplayed Marmion and still lost) games Montini has played very solid football. Mt. Carmel needs this game to ensure their play off hopes and Montini needs this game to get a better seed in the playoffs. Should be a very good game.

That is an odd start time that may favor Montini as they can beat some traffic.

I also head Rice had Montini beat except for a bad penalty/ bad officiating.

There used to be a science to this that was pretty reliable. MC beat BR by 35, Montini beat BR by 1 in the final seconds, so MC should win by at least 20....that's how you would figure it out 15 years ago, but now?HOLD EVERYTHING! Montini beats DLS by 30 and DLS beats MC...system destroyed! I don't know who wins...it's Homecoming, PC is rolling, you don't want to play them 4-4...if they can't get up for this, shame on them.
