They're doing a good job of vaulting themselves as the mostdelusional fanbase in the damn SEC. I've been debating on reading their forums but I'm afraid some of that stupidity will rub off on me

. . . and no, I don't mean by trotting out pitiful defenses that panic when they hear the word "spread." Collect all this interwebs gold and get it in front of the team. It's just too good not to be lockerroom discussion material.

All of our units are better than Auburn's. Our starting 22 is better than Auburn's. I don't think big crowds will intimidate our team, and I think our experienced leadership is going to dominate the trenches against a young Auburn OL and DL.

Why do Auburn fans think we still suck? We had them beat last year, and that was against the best team they've ever had. We improved from last year, and they go significantly worse. But we are worse than Utah St? Auburn fans logic just escapes me. I don't care if we lose to LSU as long as we beat Auburn. Mullen will be out for blood this weekend.

but if this just adds more fuel to the fire then by all means.. Auburn needs a reality check and know that they can't buy their way into heaven.

I've never been more mad at a call than that game. I think maybe we were better, but I would say that both teams were pretty even. Keenum was damn good that year. And they were ranked when they played us. Either way, we still probably should have beaten them. Especially at home.

due to their 'history' and their 'names' instead of looking at what they had coming back. You could field a top-tier SEC team with what both teams lost due to graduation, arrests and injury since last year.

I don't really think USU's O is better, but just thinking that our D can
be more suited for the typical ground and pound that MSU is likely to
do, or traditional route running, etc. More of a vanilla offense. As
opposed to being all over the place with quick outs and small, nifty
players zipping around which is what USU did.

Does this guy think because we ran the wishbone in 1980 we run it today. I watched that game from start to finish. If they think that was a confusing offense with nifty players zipping around, they'll think otherwise Saturday.

as far as losing to somebody we should have beat. And while State may have generally had more talent top to bottom, the difference in qb talentmakes me question whether you could really say state was the better team that year. I think if you switch coaching staff's, Mullen could have taken Houston's team and beaten state by 3 touchdowns.

And ditto on the refs. Having the ref's take away a first and goal (or maybe first and 10 from inside the 15?) was really the difference in the game. You're always going to have questionable calls go against you, but you're rarely going to have a ref forget where the line of scrimmage is on the same play where the replay guy is too busy masturbating to do his job.

I'm a MSU grad. I went to school during the croom years, so not much chance for conversion when state was going 3-8 every year. Plus, it would have been kinda dumb to put an auburn screen name on a MSU sports board. I'm a huge MSU basketball fan, and I'll support them against any team but Auburn in football. I don't frequent AU's scout board... some of those posts areridiculous. I'll have to check it out.

"I'm an Auburn fan but I went to MSU. I'll cheer for MSU in anything except Auburn football."

You, sir, are part of the problem. You do not bleed maroon. People like you are why for years MSU couldn't make headways against the rest of the conference. How many times did I hear "I go to State, but I cheer for Alabama." 17 no you shouldn't be doing that.

Let me tell you a story about 615dawg.

615dawg was born bleeding orange and blue. There are pictures of 615dawg at Christmas in his Bo Jackson jersey. There are pictures of 615dawg at Jordan Hare Stadium. 615dawg's entire family went to Auburn, but when 615dawg was a senior in high school, Mississippi State was the best option. You know what happened the first year 615dawg was in college? That 20-0 win at Jordan Hare Stadium in 1997. From that point forward Auburn could go to hell.

I watched us win a few and lose more than a few, but never once did I say "Its okay, I'm an Auburn fan too." I want Mississippi State to win the national championship in every sport they play, and I want the rest of the SEC to lose every game they play. Sure, I have more disdain for Ole Miss and Alabama than the rest of the SEC, but after last year, Auburn is on that list as well.

Fans like you that say "I went to MSU but I cheer for Auburn" make me sick. We don't need fans like you, so you can go to the Auburn Scout board and discuss why a 4-8 Utah State with a true freshman is better than a 9-4 SEC team that returns its entire offense from a team that gave your best team ever fits.

Passionate are we? I see where you're coming from, but it's never really bothered me to that extent. I know State has more "visiting" fans that are only there for school, but almost every university has them. If there was a MSU fan that went to Ole Miss for a degree in law I doubt too many people would be up in arms about that.

Ha. Well, 615dawg, that's good for you. I'll refrain from referring to myself in 3rd person. I don't think it helps to get my point across. I never claimed to bleed maroon and white. I grew up an Auburn fan, and like you, had several family members graduate from Auburn. I was the first to go to MSU, also because it was the best option. If we're basing our allegiance upon the outcome of the first AU-MSU game we attended, then my point is as valid as yours. My freshman year in 06 I watched AU beat MSU@ home 34-0. However, my ties run a little deeper than just one game.

As far as what the other AU fans are saying, I don't agree with them. Not all Auburn fans are as delusional as you may think. I tried to look at the scout board, but you have to pay. I guess your allegiance to MSU doesn't keep you from supporting an AU message board. You may not be able to read the board either, but since we're making assumptions... Anyway, I'm not a MSU hater, and contrary to what you believe, I am a MSU fan. The fact that I'm a bigger AU fan, and will pull for them during the game this weekend certainly won't influence the outcome of the game...so don't worry about it. Realistically, I'm not sure Auburn's D is ready for MSU's O. BTW, thanks for calling me sir.

If you didn't have an affiliation when you came here but then jumped to a school that was winning, then yea I'd have a problem with it. But if it's someone that came in an Auburn fan and left an Auburn fan... it really doesn't bother me to that extent. Who knows what they're reasons were to why they chose state? Instate tuition? In a field that Auburn either doesn't support or isn't as good as State's? Parent's would pay for them to go to State? Only school that gave them a scholarship? I've just talked to a few people that had similar things like that happen to them which is why it doesn't bother me as much.

As far as MSU basketball goes, I never even cared about basketball growing up. I knew State was good, but never developed an allegiance until I attended my first state game. Jarvis's triple double against Kentucky in particular, will be something I'll never forget. I have never attended an Auburn home basketball game. I have attended countless AU football games as a kid, therefore my reason for being a fan. Plus Auburn won most of the games. That certainly helped. I could care less what you think of me, pertaining to my college sports allegiance's. I attended MSU because out of state tuition was waived, I'm from Alabama. I've developed a love for State, but still have a passion for AU football. The 18 years I spent as an AU fan was too much for 4 years at State to overcome. Since I had never attended a college basketball game until going to State, naturally, I'd end up pulling for them. I don't really care if you have a problem with it. I do appreciate Incognegros input. I'm done with the thread hijack. Sorry to the other folks.

If you're going to go around claiming an MSU degree, can't have you looking like a dubmass.

Andit's slightly annoying to me for people to go to undergrad one place and then cheer for another team (especially when it's people from MS that cheer for a school like Bama b/c their redneck family members are sidewalk fans), but I'll definitely give somebody a pass if their college football experience consisted of Croom teams.

You're right, 3rd person. My bad! It's strange that all of my roommates understood why I'm an Auburn fan, and also why I'm a MSU b-ball fan. Actually, I've had no problems from anyone in real life. I understand that this is an internet forum so people don't have to talk to anyone face to face. If that was the case, most of you would probably not even make a remark. My MSU football experience... 20-29 ( 10-22). I'd much rather talk football than this stuff.
