That place has been a hotbed all week.

There's talk over there that the Ark game may signal what happens to Croom. Somebody followed that up with a question as to why the outcome of just the Ark game should make any difference at all. The response was quite intriguing.

The "outcome" of that game may not make a damn bit of difference. Apparently there will be another metric in play.

I repeat what has been posted here numerous times before: EMPTY SEATS, PEOPLE!!!!! For the love of all that is holy, go in, cheer like a MFer for the seniors as they are introduced, and then get your *** back to the dumption.

I'll definately be happy to see our ambiguously gay ST team duo of Carlson and McShank leave.

We get rid of Crooms and make a good hire, we can have that place filled with hope and excitement again next season. And maroon helmets with maroon jerseys and white pants...its time to shed the merlot uni's

and I've begged friends and family to do the same. An empty stadium could get rid of Crooms in 3 weeks. Think about it!

....know you care about them, then leave as soon as the game starts. It's a clear protest against the program, not the players.

In general, empty seats always speak louder than anything else.

But I hate not to cheer for the players during the game. I feel bad for them because their coaching staff has let them down. Ill be there.

Why does it have to be so hard for us to fire a coach at Mississippi State? If he/she is not winning on a consistent basis, do like the rest of the Universities around the country and fire their rear ends ! Croom has got to go at the end of this year, not at the end of next season. No need to prolong the inevitable !

translation: not enough support to kick Croom out on his ***. When it becomes the "vocal majority" in 2010 then you will see a change. That timing fits better because GB hasn't built up his power base enough to take on the entrenched wooly sheep of MSU. Croom will continue to stumble next year with another 3-9 season and that will put an end to the Croom era. Of course, the new mantra for the new era will be - "Yea, Coach really is going to have it tough, hell the program is at bottom. Hopefully, he can clean it up and do it the right way".

I agree 100% with you. The easiest way a new coach can endear himself to the fanbase -- other than being not Croom - is dump those gawdawful white helmets.

If he truly feels that way then he can go to hell along with the 25k fans who have no problem sitting at DWS thru the 1-10 and 3-9 seasons. It really makes me sick that we have such a large portion of our fanbase that is content to sit back and endure this **** year after year because they are scared of change. Here's a clue MSU sheep. The SEC is already filled with an allstar list of coaches and UT is about to throw 2+million at another. You thought hanging on to Jackie a few years too long was bad? Wait to see what happens when we continue to employ the Walrus.

Since we all feel that Croom will be gone, at least by the end of next year, I pose a different question to you all. When Templeton hired Richard Williams to coach basketball, he just wanted Williams to win "a" SEC game. Williams is on the B-ham stations on occasion and he talks about how he built our program. He said that he grew up in Miss. and understood the talent level that was there. He also knew that the best players were leaving the state. He made a committment to start with 9-10th graders and start courting them to come to state. He put on a full court press and cut off the exiting of great players. As many of you remember, it took him about 3-4 years to show a turnaround and it wasn't pretty in the beginning. With all of that said, when we replace Croom, do we look for a person with some type of ties to our program, like a Williams type candidate, or do we bring in a person, say like Peterson from B.S., who doesn't know his way around the state? I can't think of anybody off hand that would be able to do what Richard did with our football program. If we could clone Williams with a football coach, it would definitely pay off. I wish we had brought in the coach from S. Panola a year ago as an asst. and let him work the college system, similar to what Boyd did with Williams. Just curious to hear some thoughts.
