A kneel down away. All you had to do is not take off your helmet and run around.
Nope, that’s an Ole Miss way to lose….remember the piss and miss? That is the most Mississippi State way possible to lose a football game
Why am I not surprised you don’t like following the rules of the game.I don’t care what anyone says, HORRIBLE for ref to make that call, considering all the context. Ref is an awful person.

Go home bear. Why am I not surprised you’d have made a good Puritan.
If the player just takes his helmet off, the ref probably doesn’t throw a flag. But he launched his helmet like 20 feet in the air. That is a safety issue, the helmet could hit somebody on the head and injure them. A flag has to be thrown in that situation. The coaches knew it as soon as he did it. They weren’t yelling at the ref. They were yelling at the player because they knew what he did was a penalty.I don’t care what anyone says, HORRIBLE for ref to make that call, considering all the context. Ref is an awful person.
You go home, Gideon. Go go home and read the town bylaws for fun.Go home bear.
Doesn't everyone have the bylaws and codes of ordinance by their bedside? You go home, Gideon. Go go home and read the town bylaws for fun.

Well, I do know you can't do what that team did. It cost them a state championship. I guess had you been on that team you would have been that guy.You go home, Gideon. Go go home and read the town bylaws for fun.
I have my favorite codes tattooed on my left butt cheek.Doesn't everyone have the bylaws and codes of ordinance by their bedside?
We kind of won a game that way, against Memphis in 85.That is the most Mississippi State way possible to lose a football game
Dumb take. You officiate the game until 0:00.I don’t care what anyone says, HORRIBLE for ref to make that call, considering all the context. Ref is an awful person.
Yeah. I can tell several people don't understand the context. It wasn't like he did it with 5 seconds left and the refs decided to be pricks. There was still significant time left in the game and the other team had TOs. No excuses. This isn't a case of the refs "not letting kids be kids".Here’s some more context that makes the decision by the player to throw his helmet even more egregious. The other team still had two timeouts left. It was first down and they would have been able to run the clock out, but the penalty stopped the clock, which was effectively an extra timeout. The defense was then able to use its two timeouts after the next two kneel downs and force the punt, which was blocked. The kicker who made the winning field goal had just missed an extra point that would’ve tied the game a few minutes before.

I read that. It seems like the coach didn't realize the other team had timeouts left. Kneeling three times probably would've worked out without the penalty, but all they had to do was run a couple plays. After the penalty, and them calling TO after you kneel again, you need to ask how many time outs do they have left and figure out a better way to burn clock. Here’s some more context that makes the decision by the player to throw his helmet even more egregious.
