We are getting thin at guard:

Bost appears to be out two games or more with a groin injury. Barry Stewart is his back up at PG.
Shaun Smith appears out for the year with his Hip.
Twany Beckham is out for the year with his Hip.
Elgin Bailey is out for the year with his ankle, or so it seems.
Kodi is out 2 games with a suspension.
Renardo is still just out.
John Riek is out until December 10.

That leaves:

G: Barry Stewart
G: Phil Turner
G: Riley Benock
G/F: Ravern Johnson
F/G: Romero Osby
F: Jarvis Varnado
F/C: Wendell Lewis

Looks like the starters will be:

PG: Barry Stewart
SG: Phil Turner
SF: Ravern Johnson
PF: Romero Osby
F/C: Jarvis Varnado

Principle Reserves:

G: Riley Benock
F/C: Wendell Lewis

Looks like walkons might get some serious minutes.

this will simplify things for Stansbury.

Why would walk-ons get minutes when we have 7 players? Are you Rick in disguise?

Walkons won't play until the last 5 minutes and then only in a blowout situation.

he could be a key contributor this season and a matchup problem for opposing defenses.

at least the injuries are all either minor or to players who would have struggled to see many minutes of playing time.

morons are calling out our coach at the end of the season. the fact we are missing Riek, Sidney, smith, now bost, augustus for a couple games, bailey for the year, benock & turner had/have nagging injuries....none of that will matter. it is all Stansbury's fault. although he is accused of getting good luck and cannot take credit for certain successes due to that, he will never, EVER get the benefit of the doubt when bad luck comes knocking.

know what we are missing? Bailey's career is probably over, Benock, really? Turner understandable, but with all that said, the team played like they didn't give a **** about being in the Hump. They played as if it were the first time they had been on the court together, sorry Meo, but that's ******** and inexcusable. Still don't know how to run an offense against a zone! That's not the players, that's the coach.

Sorry, with your rants these last couple of days I can tell you are far and away Ricky's biggest apologist on this board in a long time. However, if Ricky really had wanted to build depth on this team he wouldn't have recruited 2 guys, who at the time, were perceived to be very long shots for EVER playing on the team to begin with. We've heard the depth excuse for how many years and counting now under Stansbury? Sorry, but it doesn't fly this year. When you are returning all 5 starters and 3 deep there are no excuses for a poor record at the end of the season. I won't hold him to the Sweet 16 standard that many placed on him in the preseason, but anything less than a West championship and lower than a 6 seed and Ricky deserves any beating in the press or by the fans that he receives.

didnt even practice their zone offense before their 1st game- could you ever imagine a good coach saying that?

Reporter- "What was the problem out there tonight?"
Calipari- "Well, we just didnt practice our zone offense yet"
Reporter- "Are you 17'ing kidding me? You have 5 starters returning from last year. What have you been doing this preseason?"</p>

See how dumb that sounds?</p>

I think I have a pretty good idea about Riek and Sidney. Riek is a project like Varnado was a project. I don't expect much from him this year. Sidney will never play for reasons we all know. And as much as it pisses me off that the NCAA is targeting him and ignoring all the others who have the same issues, the fact is if he didn't have these issues, he'd be playing for UCLA right now (he was only going to sign with USC because UCLA had already dropped him long ago).
