Half the fanbase didn't want him when they got him so it's not a stretch to think they will want to dump him. The Alumni and fanbase at Alabama are not at all like the same at PS. The Bama fans and Alumni have real power. They are not relegated to picking the colored napkins arraigning and tables for the Alumni dances like at PS.

But regular season games at least impact standings and potentially who makes the playoff. Bowl games are just so the players get some swag and TV money.

Then non-conference games also don’t matter. Why not sit those out? Dress for the game just in case the particular FCS team that week is putting up a struggle, but don’t really plan on playing.
If you’re a competitor, you play the games because you like to compete.
Considering he was never considered for the DC role here or anywhere else, I think it's fair to say it would be a massive failure to make him the head coach at a B10 program in the midst of a rebuild.
Ideally, teams would only play conference games but non-conference games matter--ask Texas.
Competitors understand game have different level of meaning and some have none
Drinkowitz wife does not like State College area, fine, dumb a$$ wife. With the money on the table, she could hire a limo bi-weekly w/2-3hr drives to major cities-NYC, Philly, Washington, Pitt...or have in the contract, access to PSU private jet.

Agreed. And I jumped off the Terry train last night after learning that a psu now vt staffer was encouraging our recruits to de-commit, and also seeing that Terry admits he is still being mentored by Franklin. Terry lost most of the recruiting class. I certainly want him to remain on the next coaching staff and recognize he’s done great in terms of re-motivating the team, but goodness gracious, he is not ready to be our head coach.
I don't encourage meaningful relationships to be put to an end over differences, but given the circumstances, I think it's totally inappropriate for them to be in contact until after the season is over and the final decision is made.
How is State College drastically different from Columbia, MO? Basically both in the middle of nowhere college towns, a few hours away from the large population centers of their respective states. Unless it is more of a situation where she hates Mizzou and is looking for a change and PSU is too similar.
Yeah, I’m actually wondering if Franklin purposely took advantage of Terry to take his eyes off of what was actually happening to the program the last several weeks . It is beyond inappropriate for Terry to have continued that relationship.
No they bring money to the table at Bama and will withhold if they are not happy. That is not permitted at PS.

If DeBoer loses Saturday to Auburn, most likely knocking Bama out of the CFP, the Bama fans will run him out of town on a flaming rail. The PTSD will encourage him to quit coaching.

I don't see it either, but then again I didn't see Knowles jumping ship from a National Championship squad to PSU.
I personally dont want Deboer. If he is going to leave Alabama then he will leave psu just as fast if things get hot.

Watching him speak on YouTube hard to imagine. Comes off charismatic as hell.
Agreed--now if i heard Terry Smith didn't interview well I'd buy that.
I agree. He lost a few spots in my opinion also.
A lot of people on here still think it’s 1986 or atleast they want it to be.
