Kraft created his little room for error by saying in a press release Franklin was fired because the “standard” was Big Ten and National Championships at Penn State (despite the fact that the last Big Ten Championship was in 2016 under Franklin and the last National Championship was in 1986). He then compounds that situation by saying the fans “deserve” a National Championship. Those “deserving” fans will expect no less.
“Deserve” has been thrown at people for several years now. I’d like to see a national championship. Why characterize as “deserve”? That’s a little demeaning.

They are permanently tracked for all of eternity.
It's not an opinion...they don't matter...if they did their wouldn't be opt outs
There are no “preseason games” in college football. And if they didn’t matter, no one would play, not just a handful of guys.

Did I say college football or football?
Correct..just like they shouldn't play in a bowl game unless they want to have some fun and see that as fun.

The preseason games in the NFL don’t count on their record.

90% of my posts are about the FACT bowls games are antiquated and no longer have meaning? 90%? Might want to research that.
With all the 'kookery' with NIL and coaches as hired guns, I think I am going to enjoy watching bowl games. Two teams on the field . both want to win . Break it down to the most basic components and enjoy . I have actually watched a lot of other games this year because our coaching staff was a failure. I seem to even enjoy watching our games more without the BS over realistic hype train we began the season with . As an aside , I haven't stated my opinion on the CJF firing , for what it's worth here you go: #1 and 1a , 1c ...... 1..... James Franklin fought hard for what he wanted and envisioned for Penn State football. He believed what was good for one is good for all and I think he did a lot of real good things for the structure of the program . I think he was ' OBVIOUSLY' stubborn. 1A....... James and Kraft had an antagonistic element to their relationship that may tell a story. Whether that was NIL .......James wanting to continue to push the ceiling for salary , or just some chemistry I would like many, have no idea. From the outside , I have a hunch there is something to this . 1c .....for reasons above , James lost faith: maybe he got heat for not spending the $$$ on recruits like Joey O' Brian etc and all the big ones we lost , and that burned the fans and Kraft . Faith in retention plan until ? AND the grand finale James lost the team after all the hype, he didn't dig into the trenches , kick some ***, take names , numbers etc....... And by doing so I think it was a moment where he and many knew the problem for the program at that moment was .............. him and he' the boss , and he's accountable #1 .

The day Franklin was accountable , he was fired.

'Obviously' I have no inside information. Hmmm

If you really thought anything would happen before tomorrow night you should probably stop typing here.
Bro /s. Just playing on how much Lando says Franklin sucks . But in reality not many coaches out there better than him . It taking awhile because it’s a tough task and most of the potential hires are tied up . I get that .

It’s proving that he can motivate players and and get the staff to commit to playing his style. Again, I’m not saying he’s my choice but he has definitely shown something. The team that he took over was dead on the vine. He brought them back to life.
He's my choice in part for the reasons you state. Don't pass up a hidden diamond while courting other things.

No, they’re not. The 1972 Dolphins lost in the preseason, but they’re the only undefeated team in history.
They're the only team to go undefeated in the regular season and win a Super Bowl--not the same thing

And the Browns went 4-0 in the 2017 preseason followed by 0-16 during the regular season.

And a college football team that goes 8-4 and wins their bowl game has a final record of 9-4.
They're 8-4 with a bowl win--see how it's broken up on a coach's record--it's why they track their bowl record.

You’re not here to discuss…you’re here to pontificate on how much smarter you are than everyone else.
So, why engage? My experience running message boards in years past is that there are personalities dedicated to trying to trigger people. They only succeed if you allow yourself to be triggered.

Did you ever play with a cat with a laser pointer? It's kind of fun. They are so adorable.

Now Chesney 45%, DeBoer 15%, Sitake 12%, Terry Smith 8%.

The VIX is strong with this one.
Sitake is now back to 40%. His name started coming out on an insider board over the last couple days. Who the heck knows if there’s anything to it beyond speculation or perhaps smoke coming out from Krafty’s crew. He is a very good coach, and we could do a lot worse (Rhule, Chesney, Smith), but he’s not quite at the level of a mythical mystery candidate. His expertise is more so defense. He seems like a Big 10 type coach, but I’m not sure he’s the type we are seeking.

No, because Franklin wasn’t a mentor to young men. Paterno was the only coach who ever positively influenced his players.
Totally not true Paterno was a great motivator and influenced young men. Franklin also motivated and influenced his players as well that is not a fair statement or correct.

I just took this shot on Kalshi seconds ago. As I say, the VIX is strong with this one.

Some here talk about Joe Paterno as if he is a poison? It is accurate that you can't live life in the rear view mirror but reverence and respect are critical to Penn State football going forward. It is in our DNA. Like it or not, Paterno put the Penn State football program on the map in the 1970's and 80's. Prior to that, PSU was just a eastern regional football team. One of the things that irked me about Franklin in the 12 years he was coaching is that he NEVER publicly acknowledged Joe's major accomplishments. Franklin lived in the castle that Joe built and never once said thank you.
Do Alabama fans constantly bring up Bear Bryant in every discussion? Just curious.
