I at least have history on my side…Penn State isn’t pulling in a ton of five star recruits. The only way you can say we got a coach who won’t make in game blunders is if he’s never done it and that’s just not true….no coach is perfect in their in game decision making.
I e seen multiple coaches “ice” their own kicker…they call a time out for various reasons, but it isn’t to ice their kicker.Let's all hope CMC doesn't ice his own kicker like BGJ did once
Well, they will make sure they were right about Franklin but moving the goal posts or changing the past, much like they do with Joe.
No, may as well have realistic opinions on what a coach can and can’t accomplish at PSU and enjoy the good seasons. To have a NC or bust mentality at PSU (or just about any school) is setting you up to be disappointed.
So? I’ve been a PSU fan my whole life and don’t plan on changing. I was a Paterno supporter, an O’Brien supporter, a Franklin supporter, and now a Campbell supporter. I’m just a bit more realistic than many on here.
That’s funny. We’ll see. But I’m quite sure you won’t judge him by the same criteria you judged Franklin. Hypocrisy runs deep with you.

In any given recruiting year cycle, from what I see, there are few 5*recruits,---what, 20-25? Not a lot for the Division I teams. Look at what Indiana has done with a team full of 3*'s, great Coaching, and a tremendous QB. It can be done.
Just because a kid piles up the stats doesnt mean they are a 4 or 5 star. Whats Bragalone doing these days?
That is such a small minded view of his contributions. The kid was the back up QB.
And I have history on my side as well. Franklin’s record vs Top 10 Big Ten is 1-18.
4 - 21 against top 10 teams..................... 4 wins of 25 contests.....
It has everything to do with BGJ being a mediocre coach that hasn’t shown the ability (after YEARS of opportuntity) to bring a program back to its former glory days.
Now we all know that you discount the PSU brand and you are unwavering on your position as am I. But at this point, Franklin is gone, PSU has a coach that has a lot of potential, and I (and many others) will be enjoying the next few years to see what Campbell can do. In the meantime, you will continue to pine for the Franklin Years and likely root against PennState.

He wasn't on the QB depth chart until Kotelnicki and Terry stupidly allowed wildcat formations with Smolik to take place, after Allar was already out for the season. This caused Smolik to get hurt too, completely wiping out all QB depth as Kritza (sp?) was already injured then as well. That was a really perplexing choice when you already have 2 injuries in your QB room.
Well, I guess they earned their money somehow. Cause it sure wasnt on the field/stat sheet. Unless missed tackles, getting pancaked, and not getting open are valuable stats to you.
You are 100% wrong…I always cheer for PSU and I support the coach….i guess that makes me a bad fan. And the comment I responded to you has absolutely nothing to do with Franklin. Might want to get help for your FDS.
I’m taking comfort in the fact that a mediocre coach is gone and the program is moving forward with a brighter future. I’m part of the ‘Make PennState Great Again’ movement! That would make you the one with some sort if Derangement System..CDS?!

Not quite….i support Campbell and hope he does better than any coach we’ve ever had. I just don’t demand it like some of the posters on here who live in fantasy land.
