Matt Stevens article at the Columbus Dispatch made exactly one very vague statement which implies guilt at MSU. He can't come out and say it because its not 17ing true.
I won't repost his article here because he and the Columbus Dispatch don't 17ing deserve it.
They are posting rumors and lies using vague language that can be defended at not slanderous. And they are doing it to sell papers.

I actually disagree, this story does involve a car. That much I do know, however, it is pretty clear that Redmond no longer has the car, and it is unclear whether or not he ever actually received it. I am leaning towards him not receiving it because he is still practicing and no one in the athletic department seems to be to worried about this.
So we told him he was getting a car and then we didnt give it to him? But he's gonna be in eligible? Redmond's gunna hate our guts. This may hurt our recruiting in Memphis for a long time.
From the way it looks "we" didn't tell him anything. A booster may have but the university and the currently employed coaches didn't.

Yeah the whole meme about good christian coaches was a dead giveaway. As for these media guys, particularly the local guys, they don't know jack. Some Bama fan started talking about a car on Tiger Droppings and now everyone is running with the car angle. Just ask yourselves this, so these local gumshoe reporters didn't have a clue about a months long investigation going on under their noses but all of a sudden have all these great insider sources. Hacks all of them, which is why they work in Jackson, Tupelo, Columbus, and Starkville!

Did you not hear Coach Mullen talkin earlier this year bout how the girls basketball coach at tsun talks like a preacher but that we LIVE like Christians every day? If they think its important enough to talk about it to the fans then i think we should embrace it. Thats what I do at least.
Theres all kinda dawgs in Flowood. We got good places to eat...nice folks, good churches. We even sell alcohol now. I found some of the new strong beer in Kroger the other day. I like Flowood just fine.

I don't think anyone at State, or Ole Miss for that matter, really wants the NCAA getting involved with Whitehead.

If we cheated and got caught, we deserve the penalty. I don't care if everyone else is doing it nor if this is the first time we've done something shady since JWS.
The thing that pisses me off, though, is that there have been much more blatant recruiting scandals in the last two years that have not even been sniffed by the NCAA. They pick and choose who and when they'd like to investigate without even pretending to put everyone on a level playing field. I'd probably lower my blood pressure by getting used to it and accepting it, but I just can't.

The Auburn and Tennessee schools of the world know how to handle the NCAA. People shut up. The don't point fingers at their own kind. They don't open up and say screw me. Get it?

Finbaum has picked up Steven's report now as well. I just cant see how these idiots get away with saying anything they want with no punishment if its not true. The whole story with the car was that he got it from a used car dealer before we signed him and that he doesn't even own said car anymore... Sounds like a load of ****.
