Heard from a source within the athletic department that Coaches Kirby and Conditioning Coach Richard Akins held a spirited practice with Renardo today from 1-3. They are working on trying to get him back into shape with the hopes that he could possibly play Saturday against Georgia or a more realistic possibility of January 23rd when we play in Tuscaloosa.

that he probably won't be cleared until the 23rd, or that he'll be cleared sooner, but it will take another 2 weeks before he's in game shape for anything other than garbage time?

Well they have their work cut out. Any college athlete that plays a sport where they run for 30minutes a game yet puts on 12 friggin pounds over a 4 day holiday has to be a tough one to get into shape.

Seriously, how does a college basketball player do that? And why arent Ravern and Jarvis being let in on that secret?

I'm not paying attention to L'affaire Renardo unless Kyle Veazey, Saddawg, or JackatShelter says something.

the guy is in school on an athletic scholarship. It just doesn't make sense. And I don't understand why he wasn't practicing with the team. He should have been on the practice squad making everyone else better and preparing himself to play.

that it is hard to keep Renardo motivated with the uncertainty of his future at MSU. One day he'll have a great practice thinking he'll be cleared soon, then the NCAA would say they need more info and Renardo would have a down week. It is the coaches job to keep him motivated, but this is a very strange situation that NO coach in the NCAA has had to deal with before.

You would think the temptation of potentially TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS would be motivation enough for him to stay in shape and give a consistent effort in practice.

Just cant understand it. How has he never been coached too? How has nobody ever forced him to have any discipline, be it on the court or in the dining room?

Seriously, where the **** is the self motivation?

You would think he would be motivated by the fact that even if he doesn't get cleared he will be in the NBA one day making millions. I think he would have been gone when eligible to go pro anyways.

Balis will whip his *** into shape in 2 weeks or kill him in the process. I've never seen a more fit football team than the 2009 bulldogs.
