1. One hell of a game to watch, regardless of who won. 2 teams really got after it, unfortunately State lost. I hope they didn't leave too much on the floor because they still have lots of tough games remaining. Saturday at Auburn will be a real gut check.
2. We were fortunate to be close at the end, given how bad we were shooting. We couldn't hit the ocean from beyond the arc-kudos to LSU for putting 4 guys on the perimeter to prevent the 3-point shot. Even worse, we missed numerous dunks and layups. Had several chances at 3-point plays, but the shot never fell.
3. Ravern Johnson, who is 6-7, couldn't get a shot off. Ravern Johnson, who is 6-7, couldn't get a shot off.....he WAS the leading 3-point shooter in the country. Their defense was so quick, big and physical he couldn't shoot and sat most of the 2nd half on the bench.
4. What a game by Jarvis Vernardo. He was in another zone. LSU mugged him every time he touched the ball, but he still go 31 points. 2 of his five fouls were real ticky ones. He stays in the game we win. By the way, he was fouled on the half court shot at the end of regulation, leading to Rick's technical. He was on his knees at half court pleading his case.
5. Speaking of zebras, they were really bad. But LSU got some bad calls also. I think it played into LSU's favor to have a physical ugly game because they are older, bigger and stronger than us. Huge difference in maturity between their 22 year old 5th year seniors and our 19 year old freshmans.
6. Never sit on the row right behind the tubas in the band. I still cannot hear.
