'77 Liberty Bowl vs North Carolina is correct. Played on Dec. 19th. The 1962 Gotham Bowl was played on Dec. 15th. Nice job.

I remember watching that Liberty bowl at my grandparents house in Newton Kansas, I was 9. I did not remember our opponent being N.C. though, great trivia question. I would not have gotten that one.

Great info. My uncle played in that game and I remember seeing a photo that he has framed in his den with the date on it. I only remembered it because I always thought it was early for a bowl game. Thanks for the great question!!

Wow, I knew UNC had a good defense that year, but I didn't know they were this good:
