Yes if you had our schedule the Egg bowl would've been away for you, but why are you saying the Egg bowl would be away for us if we had your schedule? Maybe I'm missing something.

Has helped out tremendously. Willis and Oher are two of the best players at their position in the NFL. With Peria, Oher, and Willis all being first round picks as well as John Jerry, Mike Wallace, and hopefully Dex will all have success and that really sells a program. Combine that with winning and a solid coach, and Ole Miss doesn't look bad to prospects not just in MS but in other states.

Im interested in seeing how good MSU is this year. I think they could be pretty good, I just can't imagine how big that AU game is right now. I know knowledgeable AU fans are nervous, and I think AU is vastly overrated.

I hate playing LSU early. Our team started gelling towards the middle of the season and we were an inch from beating them in September. If we played Arkansas at home last year, I think we win. If we play UT at home last year, I think we win.

Please tell me you are joking? That, or you ARE a complete joke. Either way, it is comical. You are like a Spirit/Gene's Page type homer, right?

It amazes me the stupidity of some fans at all schools. I bet you thing Steve has a clue what is actually going on in recruiting from BR as well, right? Again, please, PLEASE, someone tell me this guy isn't serious.

Y'all had a cupcake schedule. We had the #1 schedule in the country and the #2 schedule was no where in the same vicinity of being as hard as ours was. We did not upset you. The better team won. Period.

about what I said.

UT sucked last year. We would have beat them at home, no doubt in my mind.

LSU was nothing special. We pretty much had them beat. They, pretty much had you beat. If we played them in the same slot where you played them at home, we win that game. We got better as the year went on....LSU did not.

We have never beat Arkansas in the state of Arkansas. We took it to them pretty good the year before and I really like our chances against them this year. If we played them last year at home, I think we win that game. Again, it was a 7 point game going into the 4th quarter, and that was on the road.

Y'all played the softest SEC schedule that I can ever remember. Had all your 'tough' games at home. Throw in 2 I-AA schools, Memphis and UAB and 8 wins isn't that hard to come by.

I'm not here to start an EggBowl.com thread or flame anyone, but your team was simply not as good as your record indicated. On the flip side, our record was not indicative of how good/bad we were. The difference in records was the schedule we played. Plain and simple.

"They, pretty much had you beat."

No, they didnt. We kicked their *** basically the whole game. They came up with a couple of plays the last few mins of the game.

And had to throw a freaking Hail Mary on fourth down to get inside the 10 yrd line. And then of course Miles effed up afterwards.
So, no, they didnt pretty much have us beat.

LSU was lucky-as-hell to be in the vicinity of anything resembling a competitive football game.

State beat Ole Miss in Starkville...like you often do. That in no way give you the better 2009 team. Certainly the better, more motivated team that night.

Case in point on the "better team" debate: Other than +@$!, schools with winning records that State beat are Middle Tennessee (10-3 in Sunbelt) and Kentucky (7-6). Ole Miss beat LSU, UT, Arkansas and Oklahoma State.

Don't even try to retrofit that Rick Cleveland BS argument.

Funny how when you guys beat a team like say LSU or Arkansas then it was because you were the better team but when it comes to the prison rape in Starkville last year somehow State was "just better that day".

The Egg Bowl exposed Ole Miss for the frauds you guys were last year. Ole Miss was an Independance Bowl type team that slid into the Cotton Bowl with a .500 SEC record because they fattened up on weaklings. Sorry if the truth hurts.

is not something that I care to argue about. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Its just that I have read that before and I disagree.

It's amazing how 'home field advantage' only works in State's favor during the Egg Bowl. Certainly didn't help Ole Miss beat LSU? Ole Miss was 4-4 in the SEC, State was 3-5. The difference maker was a freak play during the LSU game that went against us (pitch it to Dixon!!!) and one that went in your favor (Les Miles can't tell time). We weren't awesome, neither was Ole Miss.

I'll say it and stand by it, if we would have played in Oxford last year we would have won. The only way home field advantage would have helped Ole Miss is if instructions on how to stop the read option would have been on the jumbotron at Vaught Hemingway. We ran the same plays over and over and over. We could have played on mars, Ole Miss could not stop the option.

Everyone knows they were light years ahead of us last year. The only reason we won the last game was because that was the only game we prepared for all year. Every week we spent our time preparing for the Egg Bowl instead of getting ready for that week's opponent. It isnt like we only ran 3 plays all game to beat their asses. And if you dont believe me just ask some of these dip ***** that hang out on a board of school they care nothing about. They will tell you. And if you cant find them here go check out the LSU boards.

What are you talking about? Would you rather no OM people post here?

Here and Nafoom are basically the only two boards I post on. Im pretty much never a dick on here.
But it seems my reply to Brian has jammed you up a bit.

Why?

I am talking about the Ole Miss attitude in general. You uppity mother 17ers swear you are God's gift to football and for some reason expect State fans to look up to your top notch program. All I heard last year was the reason we won was A. The Ole Miss game was the only one that we got up for, and didn't care about the other ones, and B. That Nutt just didnt understand how big the rivalry was and wasn't ready. of course if he were ready Ole Miss would have rolled. It had nothing to do with State just being the better team that day. I am not saying that every single Ole Miss fan is like this, so don't get your panties in a wad thinking I am pointing you out, but you know damn well that those were the excuses being thrown out by many last year

If you beat quality teams throughout the season, and in your bowl game, people (non-homers) might say State was the better team in 2009. However, the only quality team you beat last year was Ole Miss. I say quality, because Ole Miss was ranked, by several folks outside the borders of Mississippi, in the Final AP poll = better team.
