Back to the Cotton, it wasn't that we lost it was the fact that Williams ran for 10 miles on our defense which was damn good that year.

The most disappointing was the 91 Liberty Bowl. We had not been to a bowl in 10 years. Then we come out and play flat the entire game. Hell, we had an option pitchintercepted and returned for a TD.The Fly Boyswalked all over us that night.

The Peach Bowl were disappointing in that we allowed them to comeback and win. But I knew going into those games it was a toss up.

1998, I saw that coming a mile away. Ricky Williams was a bad man.

I remember being so cocky that we were going to win and win big...afterall, we're in the SEC.

That team was not ready to play, could not stop the option and couldn't do really anything on offense

I was there....I was only 12 years old, but I remember freezing cold, Ricky Williams running up and down the field, an extremely pissed off dad and leaving the game at the end of the 3rd quarter.

My wife and I had moved to Colorado Springs the year before and had been going to Air Force games. This was a tough game to root for. AF defensive line was 60lbs smaller than our O-line, but they were wicked fast and would blow past the line and be in the backfield before the running backs and qbs could make a decision. I remember the post game comments from the O-line players stating they weren't prepared for their speed.

It was my very first State game. The tickets were a Christmas present from my girlfriends mom. They are both Rebel fans. Besides the cold weather, the mascot beat down, and our ****** play on the field I had to listen to my girlfriend ask the whole game why Air Force was winning, Ole Miss beat them last year.

We were dominate in the first half and our players taunted the NC team. Second half NC steamrolled us. I think the taunting rule was imposed the next year.

...when the backup QB comes in and on his 1st play he and throws a fade route TD over Kendall Roberson.

We went in that game undefeated or close to it. SC was just about winless. We should have steamrolled them and would have been setup for a great season. Instead we laid an egg.

I loved Sherrill's better years obviously, but the times State went in an lost games they had no business losing were infuriating. Guess that will happen to Dan eventually, maybe, but it hasn't happened yet.

saying after that game, "Ron Polk would never had let this happen to one of his teams!"

Funny looking back on that now....

Airforce mascot was brought out perched on his trainers arm - with a slight head nod -the damn bird took off - circled over the stadium then swooped down to pick up some fake rat or something on the 50 yard line before landing back on the trainers arm. Damndest thing I'd ever seen.

Immediately, someone yelled-----"Look at Bully!" Bully was up to his ears licking his nutts at about the 40 yard line. I knew then, we were in big trouble.

Was at both the Peach Bowl losses and the Cotton Bowl loss. The Cotton was so disappointing b/c we just didn't seem to put up much of an effort. The Texas fans were hard to abide - so obnoxious. At least with the Peach losses we played good enough to win.

Was my most disappointing for a couple of reasons:

1. We were better than them.

2. Derrick Taite and Eric Moulds got into a fight over a girl, and so Taite wouldn't throw to Moulds the entire game, taking away our home run threat, which I think really affected the outcome of the game and really hurt us. I have never forgiven Taite for that petty, selfish act.

We had just blown a Peach Bowl game 2 yrs prior to NCarolina.
We had won 5 out of the last 6 games andshould have beaten uat that yr.
We were ranked #16 at the time and we again had a 3rd qrt lead in the bowl game
We kicked 5 FG's that game=====had a punt block, and had GREAT field position all game long but just couldnt make the big play for a TD

2nd most disapointing was the 1991 Libert Bowl just because everyone thought it was going to be a sure win.
3rdly was the 1993 Peach Bowl against UNC--- had a 14 pt lead at the half, and we got inside the NC 30yd line 2 times in the last 3-5 minutes and got 1 <17ing> FG

The cold beer inside the GA Dome made up for a LOT of bad football however!
