3 year old son’s blanket. That was a doozy.

Money-wise? Not much. Probably just some cash.

I lost (possibly had stolen) a brand new Louisville Slugger TPX baseball bat at a middle school baseball tournament in Corbin that I bought with my lawn mowing money plus $30 from dad. Rage. Then tears. Sucked.

Teenage me lost a giant book of CDs worth hundreds or thousands because they were all purchased studio albums. Burnt CDs and docking stations weren't a thing yet.

Lost/Stolen my Michael Jordan rookie card back in the mid 80's. No telling what that thing is worth. About 95% sure my "good friend" stole it from me! He offered to give me an Ozzie Smith autographed baseball for "free" (just randomly) at or about the same time my card went missing. Had the means, motive and opportunity to take it. Oddly, my "good friend's" cousin shows up with a Michael Jordan rookie card within days----flaunting it around school etc. Still pissed about that one.

My wife lost a very expensive bracelet within 1 mos of me giving it to her. Had yet to get it insured. To my surprise, an employee from Rite aid found it on the ground and turned it in about a week after she lost it! Kinda restored my faith in humanity.

My wedding ring twice.

2000 and 2002.

I work around machinery and was skeerd I would tear off my finger, so I always took it off to work.

Between the "stupid tax" of buying a replacement and the "you lost it again" from the wife, I just leave it on all the time.

Lost a few of those myself. Pro tip: You can buy used ones for about half price or you can go with steel/titanium instead of gold for even less.

Thought about getting titanium until someone told me that if you eff up your ring finger (which I did) the dr. isn’t gonna have much luck getting that ring off, unlike your finger. Dunno if that’s true, but it sounds awful.

$400 & credit cards in wallet while standing on a crowded Paris subway. Guess the wallet just jumped out of my pocket to avoid the crush.

Lost a pair of custom Oakley Holbrooks. Had my prescription in them, iridium lens, polarized, anti-glare. I was able to get them through work insurance, but retail those things were like $700. I'm still hoping they turn up somewhere.

You can buy rubber ones on Amazon for $4. That will keep him safe and cheap.

Got burglarized back in early 90s. Took my wife's diamond wedding rings, my gold wedding band and my HS class ring - among other assorted valuables. My wife still grieves about it. Crackhead got caught but my stuff was long gone. Bet he didn't get fifty bucks for the stuff. I offered him $500 bucks if he would tell me who he sold it to. He had no clue.

He got sent away for six months at a juvey work camp and was ordered to pay me a couple of thousand bucks restitution. Obviously I never saw a dime. I contacted the court a few years later to see if they knew his whereabouts.. I thought he might have grown up and turned honest and I could start getting paid [laughing]. They didn't know but said that if I ever found the guy I should let them know because he had warrants. Bet he's dead or in prison.

Hopefully dead and not a burden on taxpayers

You live in some rough areas. House was robbed and person across the street was killed by a serial killer. Touche to being able to still let us know on a message board. Doubt it will be offered in solitary.

Movado watch. Left in a hotel room on the dresser, wasn't there when I came back.

The ironic part is that neither place was a "rough area." I only learned last week that my neighbors were killed by the Golden State Killer. It happened in 1980 but no one put it together until about 1999.
