Back when we could sit down and eat. I don’t know exactly who mine would be. Lots of UK guys I’ve wined and dined with through the years.

Years ago my old roommate and I ran into Big World at Richmond's Lee's Famous Recipe and my roommate bought him lunch. Big World showed us his watch, which he said he'd just had fixed.

Big World's a cool guy. I hope he's doing well.
I hadn’t thought about Big World in years. Talked to him more times than I can count when I lived in Richmond. Ran into him at T-bombs on night and offered to buy him a beer. He said nah I’m good and pulled a long neck bud out of his pocket. A real character. Anthony Mitchell. He started putting advertising flags on his bike and the company I worked for paid him to advertise for us. He was a real nice guy. Easy going. And everyone knew him.

Not lunch, but I got paired for 18 (Golf Now) with a famous mobster’s former personal chef/caterer last year and the stories he told were awesome.

Anthony used to come by our welding/machine shop years ago when he was still riding his bike. He was so big he kept breaking the frame. I welded it several times, all in different places, until I finally braced it up for him where he couldn't break it anymore. We never charged him because, at least back then, we didn't feel he had much money. He would always thank me over and over and promise to send us anyone who needed our services. Nice guy, and a buddy of mine posted on FB, I think it was last week, a photo of Anthony at home. Seems to be doing much better after some health problems last year.

Oh, had a quick lunch with Tim McGraw when he had a mini concert in Lexington several years ago at a local horse farm for the Breeders Cup.

Played golf years ago with Senator Jim Bunning, but honestly, don't remember a lot about it, so he must not have been all that interesting.

Thought of another: Arthur Hills, who designed Champions, Persimmon Ridge, Shaker Run, and Olde Stone, I think. Was really interesting to hear an expert talk about what he thought about and what was important in designing challenging golf courses.

President Ronald Reagan (in the White House Boy Scouts Of America) Thanks Carroll Hubbard (KY Congressman from Murray,KY). It was in 1981 during the National Boy Scouts Jamboree held in Fort AP Hill, Virginia.

Peter Gammons (Peg Leg Petes Seafood Resturant on Pensacola Beach) He was there to cover the Braves spring training in Fort Walton.

Kenny Walker / Wes Strader (SEC Tournament in Nashville) I leased a house from Wes when I first moved to Bowling Green. We became friends over time, and he got me a hook up for VIP at the SEC Tournament, Kenny was doing the pre-game show with Wes at the time. Talk about a truly great man, Wes was all class. R.I.P Wes.

A pretty diverse group, probably leaving a couple people out.

He is. Got a smile and a wave from him just yesterday.
Lived in Richmond a long tine. I could be in a terrible mood and if I saw him riding the 3 wheel bike with the flags flying I automatically got in a good mood. Always rolled the windows down so I could yell big world out the window, as my wife begged me not to.

i really only have lunch with family and friends outside of work meetings.

About a year or so ago I had lunch with an app developer who was into motorized handgliding. I found that pretty interesting.

I also randomly had a beer with Dash Mihok (Bunchie from Ray Donovan) at Rosebuds in Lexington like 15 years ago.

I was working in radio at the time downtown and just wandered into sit at the bar for a beer one night, had just broadcast one of World Series games. Guy came in and sat down a stool over from me by himself.

Recognized him about 30 minutes into chatting. That was random and he was a pretty cool guy.

A company lunch with H. Ross Perot. He was one of the most patriotic persons I ever met. The USA would have been run like a highly organized business if he had become President. If you want some good reading find the book “On Wings of Eagles” by Ken Follett. It tells the story of how Perot put together a rescue team to extricate two Americans from a Tehran prison.

Don't know if I would consider this person famous or even interesting, but it was unusual.....
Was having lunch at the PFChangs in LaJolla, Ca minding my own business and someone walks up to my table and asks if he can share the space??
Never before and never since had I ever been asked this so being totally off guard, I say sure and he plops into the opposite chair.
After some random chit chat, I find our that hes Richard Schiff, who was most well known for his character in The West Wing.
Like I said, not overly famous or was he all that interesting, but damn if it wasn't unusual.

Jonathan Goldsmith, the worlds most interesting man.

He was hilarious. Likes his wine, cigars, ladies and a serious grill/bbq smoker. He joined us on a trip to a distillery. We stayed at home on the property, so we had dinner, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Great guy.

Dan Issel. Great guy. Loves the horse racing industry. Told great stories about Rupp.
