we REALLY don't need to start 1-3. Would be great if we knock off a couple of those teams.

Chance of us winning

vs Auburn - 45%
@ LSU - 30%
vs UGA - 35%

I think we have a very good chance of coming out 2-2.
Also think we are more likely to be 3-1 than 1-3 but my wool is thick.

0-4 - 2%
1-3 - 15%
2-2 - 60%
3-1 - 20%
4-0 - 3%

Thursday night home games are a big time advantage. It's too early to tell from just fall practice what type of teams each team matches up with the best, so I go with Auburn given that I think all 3 of those teams have potential to be good but I don't think any of them will be Top 10 caliber.

Georgia highest chance, they have South Carolina away and Arkansas at home before heading to Starkville. Their defense, particularly secondary is supposed to be weak. They very well could be totally shell shocked by September 25th. (Richt is under some fire, most fans thought Willie Martinez stuck around way too long. Plus all the off field issues are starting to add up. Starting 0-2 in hte SEC would send UGA fans into hysteria)

I think Auburn is the next likely upset, been hearing their defense is below they're expectations. Thursday night environment might be in our favor, McPhee might get up close and personal with Mr Newton.

LSU, lowest chance. History is against us. Although Les Miles could swing that back into our favor.

I say the best chance is Georgia- their QB has yet to throw a college pass, their secondary is extremely average, and they will be coming off tough games @SC and home to Arkansas- then traveling to our place

Auburn is almost equal to Georgia...the Thursday night magic will be important as will getting Cam early

LSU? Almost no chance to win in Tiger Stadium

Home team wins 80% of the time on Thursday nights - Looks like the best chance out of the three to me.

screwed up the math.
The first three are percent chance of winning each game, not as a whole. The bottom set adds up to 100%. And yes I did pull them out of my ***.

Buteven with our poor Thurs night record as of late;out of the three games listed the odds will be most in our favor for Auburnrather thanLSU or GA. LSU is the least likely of the 3 for us to win - but we do have a better chance at a win over the tigers this year than we have had in a long time...

I think we are most likely to upset Auburn, I mean hell, even they can't ever tell what their season will end up like...the last few years for them has been a roller coaster, when they were suppose to be a good team they just simply weren't and when they were suppose to be mediocre they give the analyst a reason to give them a preseason ranking....but I would love to see us walk into BR and beat the stripes of those cajuns! Wow, almost spelledsome stuff wrongthere, either the beer is getting to me or I need to move further than an hour away from the AL line!

in all of them except for maybe LSU.

Auburn- we're going to be fired up to beat the rented ***. It's Thursday, I think it's going to be totally off the hook- like Florida and Bama last year. We don't have Torbush to 17 it up either this year.

LSU- They've beaten us for the past 10 years or so at least. It's on the road, but we have the advantage as far as the head coach. In the past, it was almost like we were scared of LSU under both Jackie and Croom. Last year, we played them without fear, and went toe to toe with them. I think our team wants this game. And let's not forget- yes, we came up an inch short, but Tyson Lee also had a pick six to start the game, so we spotted them 7 points. We take care of the ball, I like our chances. I think we're going to have a great crowd of MSU fans to- it seems like everyone is going- including me.

Gerogia- Like Coach said, they have an inexperienced QB, it will be a road game for them, and it will be after they play some tough teams, so they could very well be beat up. Going to Starkville for them is not going to be a picknic.

Arkansas- I'm throwing this out there since Coach mentioned it. I think it depends on how much better Arkansas is on defense and also how much better we are as well. I think having a better defensive coordinator and home field could very well be enough to pull it off. I still think that we can score on them.

But an upset is something that is unexpected, so I'll throw this out there- Florida. No one thinks that we are going to win. BUT, they've lost Tebow, and they've lost some other key guys. They haven't been the same since Dan left on offense anyway, so why would they be expected to be better? And on top of that, I have a feeling that Dan is going to want to do well in this game and he will definately have us ready for this one. And they've also lost Charlie Strong on defense. They have some question marks for sure.

since they beat them twice in a row- guess they figure if they can beat them, everybody else should be able to beat them...conversely, LSU *****-slapped Auburn last year and they have a little different view

this year State is going to surprise some teams. We finally have a good offensive strategy, a good defensive strategy, and good coaches on both sides of the ball. We don't have any major injuries preseason(knock on wood), and we have a head coach who seems to be more impressed with his teams performance than last year.

On the flip side, I agree the Thurs. night game against Aubbie will be a revenge game for us, they exposed us last year(I know I was there, and it was ugly). I think our guys will want to come out and prove that we are not the same team this year.

LSU- I believe if we have any chance of winning in BR this will be the year. Les Miles is an bafoom, and I do not think Jefferson is that great of a QB. If you get Jefferson flustered it is game over.

Georgia- Do not know a lot about them besides what I have read on here. If we come into this game undefeated though, we will have a ton of confidence. Also, the home crowd should be rabid, having the possibilty of going 4-0 for the first time in years.

Overall the key to this season rests on the Aubbie game, if we come out and beat them, we have the chance of having a very special season.

that's sort of by definition upset. I say upset because I will be shocked if we are not underdogs on the betting line against all 3 of the teams mentioned. Not necessarily double digit type underdogs but underdogs none the less. If GA loses to SC and Arkansas and we look really strong against Auburn and LSU they might make us a slight favorite at home but that's the only one I see that we probably have any realistic chance to be favored in. I mean we were still picked 5th in the West and that was before OM actually got a real QB.

Yeah we've beat them the last 2 years, but that has nothing to do with it. Hell ya'll almost beat them last year and from everything I've been reading looks like your defense is going to be pretty damn good this year. I don't think an upset is out of the question.

I don't think we can go to Tiger Stadium and win yet, but that's just my opinion. I think we will win the UGA game because they are always overrated, so if they are in the 25-30 rankings pre-season, that says to me that maybe they aren't that good...not to mention a QB that has never played. I realize that's not very scientific, but thats what I've got.

I do not consider them upsets, will you and everybody else.....most likely. Guess I have some major MAROON COLORED GLASSES on, I just feel like this year with a different defense, andplayers that should be a lot more comfortable with year 2 of the same offense we stand a real good chance of winning a lot of games this year. It will be disappointing if we do not win at least 6 games this year in my opinion.

Defense cost us some games last year, and it was the offense that kept us in games. Looking forward to both sides performing well.

and during a huge rain shower...that makes a difference...it will be a different story walking into BR in front of 90,000 screaming drunks...I'm pumped about our season, but anybody expecting less than 8-4 out of LSU is kidding themselves...thats the absolute worst they'll finish...and if we beat them, that only leaves 3 other teams to do it

Did it rain when we played LSU last year? And if it did (I remember rain during some games, but not that one for some reason), how exactly did that make a huge difference?
