in the past couple of days... I get it.<div>
</div><div>Serious question though... Will you give Stans credit for having the boys ready to play for this tourney? (win or lose tonight)</div>

Over/under on the number of times we win this year and c34 says "you can't say we're not talented, no one could mess this up"

That'll be his platform for the year, one way or another he'll convince everyone on here that the year will be a disappointment and Lebron wouldn't start for this team

We have to build on this, now. We have momentum and if we can dominate OOC, that Akron loss will be almost meaningless. 2 ranked teams in 2 days... just WOW. I can't recall the last time we beat ONE quality opponent in OOC, much less 2. This team has a lot of potential... let's see what we do with it.

No doubt Stans out coached two coaches in this tournament. He had our guys buy in to his game plan and keep the cats off the three point line tonight. His substitution patterns are perfect and for the Stansbury stall he just puts in Deville and problems solved! We are deep everywhere except in the post. I really like this squad.

good teams on the road in a pre-season tournament. Talent, depth, and enthusiasm. Exciting to watch. The final four team did lose at home to Ark LR. Cautiously optimistic about the season.

In other news, Fish might have to retireone of his favoritetwo sentences he knows how to type for at least a week or so.

"Stans can't beat good teams outside the conference that he hasn't seen before."

We just beat two top 25 teams in two days, Mullen will be looking for his 2nd win vs a top 25 team in 3 years tomorrow, I believe he stands at 1-14 currently

But Stans is our coach, so he gets all the credit tonight... Great Job....

I am actually real optimistic and excited about this basketball team....

I'll reserve judgement about Stans until later in the season. Who knows? I may have jumped to gun after the Akron loss and the memory of dashed expectations from previous years. Determined not to post anything negative about the coach until February at the earliest. Plus, hard to be pessimistic after watching the past two games. We've got some players who can play well together.

And no problems if this season makes me eat my words from last night.

D Smith is the best freshman guard since Bullard. Bowers was pretty good. But DSmith has those ice water viens like Bullard did. Except he is faster than Bullard was.

I think the Akron game could cost us a #1 seed unless we win out or completely dominate the SEC, both of which are possible with Stansbury confidently running the show now. When Hood's shots start falling more consistently and SidMoultrie begin to dominate each opponent in the paint, the X's and O's that Stans will draw up for this team will be exciting to watch. We could see 30 regular season wins this season.

But I will enjoy watching this team play. They show shades of greatness. Bost is hot as are several others. We can give folks fits if we get any better, and we should.

and then get beat early in the big dance. Until he has a sweet sixteen run Stans has not met expectations. Loved watching these last two games but i'm not buying til we advance in the tournament - have to admit though, these are the best two defensive games we've played in years, which makes me believe this years team has a chance.

... you are talking #1 seed smack before Thanksgiving? After 5 games played?

That's okay. If coach34 can talk the stupid **** he constantly talks here, you are allowed to dream of #1 seeds a week before Thanksgiving.

Just likes to take it to the hole for the layup, can you blame him. Is a good passer, had several nice ones tonight, just needs to work on his free throws and not carrying the ball.. The sky is the limit with Deville...

They were really complimentary of Stans and our team. Miller said he was amazed at our quickness and how well prepared we were with only one day to get ready. Zona was afraid to zone us and knew we would play man to man because of their outside shooting. Sid will only get better and Stans made sure we got the ball inside to Sid and Moultrie right off since they struggled against the Aggies. Glad you guys enjoyed it because we will only get better with the Freshmen getting experience .

I'm pretty sure UF was ranked last year when we beat them at home. I am also positive that Ole Miss was ranked in the top 25 in 2009 when State beat them.

I know I sure got tired of it and started pretty much ignoring it. And I have been doubting Stans a lot more after the last 2-3 years (especially last year). But even though it's still early, Stans looks like he may turn us all into believers this year. This team looks like it has a chance to be real good.</p>

He's gotten away from the hockey line changes and settled on an 8-man rotation from the start of the season. I've bitched about his substitutions in the past as much as anybody, but I really like what he's doing this year. Seems to me that he's finally treating the Nov-Dec part of the schedule as part of the regular season instead of like it's preseason games. Maybe that ultimatum you've said Stricklin gave him had something to do with that?
