I still can't understand how aTm can't field great teams every year.... It's been forever since they won anything much if I'm not mistaken.

True. And it's true for virtually all their major sports. I didn't look up all of the various sports, but other than a women's basketball national title in 2011, they haven't done much in any sport you can actually watch on ESPN. Their last claimed football national title was in 1939, the men's basketball team has never made it beyond the Sweet 16, the baseball team's runner-up finish last year is the program's high water mark. Their most successful program appears to be their softball program which won a couple of national titles in the 1980s.

I suppose their lack of success is not particularly unusual (we don't have a ton of hardware either), but given how much money they have and spend, I'm certain they have the worst ROI in all of college athletics.

The most under achieving program of all time. It’s actually amazing considering.
