I still think he’s a roll player I have criticized because he’s a tweener on his size of SF/PF. If I’m wrong I will gladly eat crow
Just like Houston, tallest starter is 6'7" out rebounded a Duke team with 7 footers and such. Charles Barkley dominated Sam Bowie and Mel Turpin on the glass, Barkley 6'5". The fight in the dog matters way more than the dog in the fight.

I like the part where there's a realistic chance we return all the following guys for 2026-2027:
Garrison - Senior *the year they would be beginning in '26-27.
Lowe- Senior
Williams - Senior
Dioubate - Senior
Chandler - Junior
Noah - Junior
Perry - Junior
Johnson - Sophomore
Lewis - Sophomore
Moreno - Sophomore

Pope is clearly aiming for continuity, chemistry, and retention.

Absolutely the opposite of Calipari-themed Kentucky.

I have been following this account since Cody got here. This is not a fake account. It also was not the account that posed the double boom. He had a post like that last year.
Ok cool, thanks for clarification. :)

I said in a thread this weekend I'm not worried with who we sign, I care a lot more about who we return each year. Looking at some of the mid-ranked portal guys who became elite players on Final Four teams this year, and seeing how Pope developed some guys this year, just give me continuity and key returning pieces and I'll be optimistic each year.

That is a beautiful site. We won't even have to waste time/money in the portal, just pay everyone to return.

Do not think Johnson will be here for a year 2. The rest is good to me. Heck you only have to pick up a few guys that year if it works out that way. Love to see that happen. Would love to see JJ here for year 2 as well.

Do not expect everyone to return

But if you recruit a bunch of multi-year players

It is easier to keep most of them return

You can not guarantee 100% will return, but 80% return is still good for continuity

Dioubate reminds me a Houston prototype big
Plus, he has a ton of potential, offensively and defensively. He's an extremely good perimeter shooter, has potential for elite-level defensive play, and is still developing physically. Most importantly, he allows Oweh to do what he does best - guard smaller wing players. Dioubate will get the taller difficult wing forward matchups defensively. He and Kam Williams give Kentucky so many versatile pieces defensively.

This is the type of combo forward UConn and Duke would have loved to have picked up.

Instead, we got him coming to Lexington!
