Are you still holding firm that you think we'll make the sweet 16?

If so, what seed do you think we'll have?

If our projected seed holds steady, what 1 seed do you see us defeating?

Of the 16 teams in the 2nd weekend:

9 of them had first round draft picks.
14 of them had first or second round draft picks
...leaving 2 teams (UNC and VCU) as the sole teams with no players drafted that year.

Take it fwiw.

I've said we have Sweet 16 talent- and that is obvious. Some talking heads have said we have Final Four level talent. If we lose both games this week- making the Tourney at all comes into question. Huge week for Bulldog basketball

...yet look at them.

I thought coach34 had stamped his seal of approval on Kevin Stallings.

Judging by the NBA talent Kevin Stallings has to work with this year, he is the most underachieving coach in the SEC to date. Not Stansbury.

foreign players accounted for. Interesting to see Sidney getting drafted by Orlando with Dwight Howard, and Big Baby Davis.

Barnes, Henson, Zeller, Marshall are all first rounders.

I know you said "that year", just clarifying.

But if I am an NBA exec there is no damn way I waste a draft pick on a guy that on his best days could only play half an NBA game. Would love to see Bost go to the Lakers though. They need a PG something fierce.

this morning, he was specifically talking about this.

He said we have a potential 1st rounder and all-American in Moultrie, a 1st team all SEC in Bost and an all-SEC freshman in Hood. Then add Sidney on top of that. He was basically in your corner if he can't get it done this year. Who knew y'all would agree on this.

And no doubt- if The Recruiter doesn't do it this year- it's never going to happen

supervision, he can get work done. In that NBA that's possible. In college, it's not.

I don't think Sidney will have a hall of fame career or anything crazy like that, but he'll be a serviceable NBA player fora few years atleast. He's talented enough to do so and when he gets assigned his babysitter, he'll be fine.

Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio State.....which of these teams have less talent than us? What about Syracuse? Michigan State? Even Florida? Also, how do we have final four talent when our recruiting classes have not even sniffed the top ten? Now, your boy Grant had most of hiskey contributersreturn plus a great recruiting class so I could see saying that Bama has top ten talent, they were ranked in the top 15 at the beginning of the season. Apparently Grant is just a ****** coach though.

They said it- I said we have Sweet 16 talent. And you can whine and ***** all you want- but we easily have one of the best starting 5's in the nation- easily top 10 in the country

That was from another ESPN writer saying it...Gottlieb and Katz said it on TV...But you can see in my sig Bost was ranked as the 6th best PG in the nation by The Sporting News...Moultrie is 1st or 2nd for SEC Player of the Year and likely ends up an AA...Hood will be unanimous All-SEC Freshman...Sidney averages 10/5 and shoots 43% from 3pt range

You'd think having an AA, the SEC's best PG, and one of the SEC's top Freshmen would convince some of you

we aren't even close. This team probably isn't Sweet 16 talent, much less Final Four. There aren't close to enough consistant minutes on this team to get to that level, not right now. There haven't neen all year.

It is historically awful. A total joke.

At first, and only, glance-
-There will only be 4 foreigners drafted? Seriously? 4? Co e on. I can think of 5 off the top of my head and I don't even follow foreign recruiting much.
-I will bet that 14 of the current 2nd rounders aren't even drafted this year. At least that.
-I would almost even say the same for the first round predictions, but it'd be closer to 10.

DX, espn, or nothing.

This site is basically ignored and not even updated for much of the year. There are no overseas trips to not only see players in action, but to get actual video. There have rarely been trips to the predraft camp in years past.

Why don't you pick out the 16 teams more talented than State this year?

We are not one of the best 4 teams (and probably not one of the best 10), but we are talented enough that we could get to the final 4 if we got hot. Not making the sweet 16 will be a significant underachievement, especially if we end up with the 8/9 spot. Sometimes good teams (that are well coached) will lose to inferior teams in the second round. But a top 16 team doesn't end up in the 8/9 slot because of bad luck, unless they played the majority of the season without one or more of their better players due to injury.

as a Magic fan I hope Moultrie slips down to the Orlando pick, but, they will most likely draft a big man, and, well Sidney is a big man.

We have an AA in Moultrie going for SEC POW, the SEC's beat PG in Bost, one of the best 3 freshmen in the SEC, and then Sidney and Bryant...and we have a 3 pt marksman coming off the bench...the TALENT is there to vein the Sweet 16- it's up to the Coach to make the team gel, get them playing hard, installing an actual gameplan, work on weaknesses. Not acknowledging the talent on this team makes you look stupid

I agree that the talent is obviously there to at least reach a Sweet 16. However, Sidney's inability to play more than 25 minutes or so a game is killing us because Wendell Lewis gives us nothing anymore. Couple that with Deville being out we are so thin that even the slightest bit of foul trouble spells disaster.

Beyond all that I question Stansbury's ability to get them motivated enought to even win more than 2 games in a row against decent competition.

isn't the same as yours. I call it as I see it. I suspect my call is going to turn out a lot more accurate than yours, just like it has almost every year I have seen yours. I really hope I'm wrong, just like you hope you are wrong.

Moultrie is a great rebounder and a good scorer, who goesAWOL every now and then and isn't the greatest defender. Bost is good offensive point guard., but again not a great defender. Hood is a decent Frosh, with all that means. Then you have Sid (the poster child for my consistant minutes arguement) and Bryant. You have Steel, who does get hot at times. Beyond that....well.............This team has some talent, but it's not general talent or talent across the board. It's NOT deep, far from it. It's the most talented team we have had in several years. When they are all there, mostlyall on, and stay out of foul trouble, they are pretty good. That's a veryspecific set of circumstances. IF things happen JUST right they have a shot at the Sweet 16. Saying they should be a lock for it is just....well.........

heard from basically every media source that Anthony Davis is a lock for POY and should be the overall #1 pick. He really looked like POY this past Sat, damn. You are just making up **** now. Also, Bost was just left off the Bob Couzy list for the nation's best PG, he stated that he used it for motivation in the interview after the Ole Miss game. So apparently the "talking heads" don't think that highly of him. Sidney is fat and lazy, but I am sure that you project him to be a lottery pick also.At the end of this season, we can look back and see how many All Americans are on our roster. That leaves Steele, Bryant and Wendell, final 4 talent....right. Finally, there is Hood,a true freshman that is playing tons of minutes due to our lack of depth. If you think that is final four talent, there is nothing more to discuss. What did you expect from this season? Is 19-6 that far off from your expectations? Finish ahead of UK??

I havent watched one telecast of our games when they dont say Moultrie or Davis is going to be POY...so yes. Moultrie with his 17 and 11 per game has a shot to win it over Davis and his 14 and 10....Moultrie leads the SEC in doubles/doubles...wow- you're a repeat offender because you are a blithering idiot

Bost is 5th in the SEC in scoring and leads theSEC in assists...3rd in steals and he is going to be the All- SEC PG...so, we will have 2 players make 1st team All=SEC

Hood will be 1st team Freshman All-SEC- averaging 11/5 and shooting 39% from 3....

Sid averages 10/5 in 25 mins per game

Steele is one of the SEC's best shooters at 40% from 3 pt range

I've never said we have FF talent- but other people have. We damn sure have alot. But no matter the talent- it has to be coached. And we lack there tremendously

on the amount oftalentthere ison this team. Anybody who doesn't see that we have one of the top 10-15 teams talent wise in College Basketball is either an idiot or been hiding under a rock for the past 20 years. There is no reason this team shouldn't be a 3-5 seed in tourney and have decent odds to win it all. The only opponent on our schedule with more talent is Kentucky. Instead we have a team with no identity whatsoever, except underachieving and blowing more double digit leads than any Stans team Ive ever seen.

This team should be blowing out most of their opponents most games, and winning by 6-10 on their off nights.

Honestly people, what offensive plays have you seen us run other than the infamous Stans rotation, where we pray andhope a defender falls down or gets held up? **** we look like a Jr High team trying to get off of screens and defending the pick and roll. I haven't seen any set plays besides the And-1 **** we like to run about 5-10 minutes a game, where we have numerous turnovers and throw up ****** off balanced shots.

I am going to watch Stans in action tonight in BR, and I have a bad feeling about it.

how many players have we put in the NBA the last several years? If you are talented the NBA will find you no matter where you played or who your coach was. The FACT is we have NOT been that talented for quite a while now. This team has 3 or so decent players and one that will probably get a look by the NBA. That's it. You guys might notice evey now and then that I don't defend Stans that much. WhatI DO point out is that we aren't as loaded with talent as some of you seem to believe. You've been spouting that same line for years, years where we have only one guy that played 20 years ago in tthe NBA.
