I expect East Surry to take first possession no matter the coin toss. I believe East will try to play ball control. By running the play clock down & slow long drives to keep the ball out of Mount Airy’s hands.
This may work the first quarter like it did for West Stokes.
But after that the clock isn’t there friend anymore.

No one expects much out of MA in playoffs! They may just make it to the state. TBD

I understand the thought process of East surry trying to play ball control and keep away from mount airy BUT you can’t do that when you can’t run the ball and the quarterback will be running for his life if he tries to pass the ball. A very long night is coming in Pilot Mountain Friday. Time for a statement to let people know you better not overlook the Bears!!!!
I see East running there offense. Hats off to Surry Central they threw the ball allot and in no way tried to snap,
The middle school team looked good this year, but yeah, few hard years may be ahead. May have a decent to good run game with Mason. Passing game may be hurting, unless there are some WRs coming up. Defense is going to take a big hit losing Third, DJ, Clabo, and Oakley. Senior heavy team this year.
I don't think this will be much of a game this year. Never can tell when these two have met in the past decade, but they just don't match this year. ncfootball is probably close to right, but I will go 51-14. The offense seems to have found it's groove. I am very interested to see the final playoff brackets.

Nothing like two mount airy fans showing love for each other…no wonder people on here give mount airy fans a hard time.
I've asked him to stop, and Deana and Sportsnut have also asked us both to stop. I have tried ignoring him, but he seems to get worse when I do that. He does this on my every post, so I have started returning the same old crap. I seem to live in his head. Maybe everyone tries asking him to stop, and I will be happy to. I have never liked this from 2 BEAR fans anyway.

Everybody excited for playoffs. I haven't heard much from Shelby are they getting scared to face the Bears. Playing at Mt Airy they going to get some TD's called back lol
They only got one and a half people who know how to log on and post. Hell Mt Hairy is in the same boat, but I believe theirs is mostly because they miss being in this pop warner universe over here where they used to dominate.

Yet as I passed by East Surry football field this afternoon they were practicing in the rain. Good for them. But that might be the warmest they fell in the next two days. Because, and no disrespect to East and to the good people of Pilot Mountain, I think the Granite Bears are:
-peaking at the right time
-the coaching staff has settled into the best rhythm they have had this year
-there has been enough "time out" from injuries and discipline that our seniors, I believe, finally understand how important each game is, and how important each play of each game is.
-of course they will not play a perfect game, but I believe they will strive for the very best on each play of each possession.

I don't think this game will be close. East Surry defense is suspect. West Stokes has struggled on offense and they got almost 500 yards against ES.
this game is not close, MA running clock early - ES plays hard but just like WS, NS, and anyone else in the area, but they don't have the speed to compete. MA has played the toughest schedule and are peaking at the right time. I see them and Shelby playing for a trip to the state title game.
