Graham is back for East Wilkes. Will he make a difference? I think Mount Airy will have everyone back next week. East Wilkes was one of the 2 teams to put a TD on Mount Airy and it was the closes games if I remember correctly.

Actually they didnt score a td but 2 fgs and were in the redzone 4x in the 1st half with no a single td...MA wins next week 42 7 or 42-0..#3 is a great athlete..but good defenses can easily key on 1 athlete and shut it down fairly readily..
I'm not even going there but I will admit they are conserving number 8 but all this chest thumping we doing when we win must stop I'd say Bears handle them easily don't won't to offend no one

I posted the scores tonight and did not chest pump or brag except saying these teams tonight did not need to be playing along with several others. The NCHSAA screwed up this year. Like Buzz says. be proud of the kids.
You could have a lil more tact Thunder...lol but yeah..it will and should get out of hand real quick if MA's talent shows up early. If not...i still stick with my score MA at least 40 something to EW 0 -7 points...
Just a suggestion but they are no need to keep posting a teams score after its 40 to 0 !!!! By then the game has been won and at that point no need to update scores each time they score. Come back and give a Final but to keep updating every single score up to 75 points is rubbing it in everyoneās face. Just a suggestion
There shouldn't be teams in the playoffs to begin with that will allow 75 points it's pitiful to send a team that's 0 and 10 to the playoffs
I met one of the few Union Academy grandparents before the game, not realizing at first he was from Monroe. He asked about Mt Airy and I told him that with no gladness in my heart, the game could get real ugly real fast if Mt Airy is in stride. And that if UA tried to pass the ball, it not only "could" get ugly that it "would " get ugly really fast.
At half time he came back and said that I was definitely right on the money and that they had not seen any team that came close to being as quick, as fast and as good as the Bears.
In fact, he said he thought he wanted to come back next week and see them again. I invited him to come stand along the fence with "us".

I hope no one thinks the previous post was chest bumping, it was just what happened. I also told him about the fabulous way Monroe hosted the 1965 Babe Ruth State Championship Series that I played in.
I agree and we all love our teams but itās just something I do when my team is winning big. To each his own
Having watched both teams play(havenāt seen MA full team play but know the kids that were out are impact players) and last night at EW with #3 in line up, the rematch shouldnāt be even close if MA āteamā shows up. However thatās why we play the gameā good luck to both teams next Friday
You also should have reminded him that about 10 years Monroe came to Mt.Airy and beat them unmercifully. You forgot to jot his memory.
What better way to send a message to the NCHSAA what a bad move they made allowing these teams in the playoffs to travel up to 500 + miles round trip to play a team they have no chance of winning ? It's not to make the team look bad when they have to face a 10-0 team and they travel with a 0-10 season. It makes the NCHSAA look bad !
ER is the fastest team in the West. Saw that first hand a couple of weeks ago. They are loaded with speed at at every position Group. They will give MA fits if they meet up. Iām here for it. They have been the most humble fans this season.
Letās hope this match up happens, both teams have got a few challenges ahead. ER has a couple mountain teams to think about as do the bears. Those Smc teams when they donāt win tend to leave teams beat up physically a bit. Letās keep our fingers crossed that there isnāt any hiccups that prevent a bears /Er matchup. But both teams have plenty to deal with before they deal each other

Nah canāt block, run or pass or play any type of defense.
Concentrate on team next Friday, as Iām sure ER will do. As many have said long way to go before that potential matchup.
I will mention to coaches they need to work on blocking though.

MA comes into this matchup with many key players back that were not present the first time the two teams played. Also, MA is motivated to play EW at full strength because there had been a lot of talk from the team down in Rhonda during the offseason. I know they havenāt had the season they were expecting, but MA didnāt forget the talk before the season. It should be a great game and another chance for MA to get in sync with full strength.
Just a suggestion but don't get beat by 40-0. Just like everyone else, I too get tired of reading about Mount Airy and how good they are by the fans, but it's not the fans fault that the team is scoring 40+ fault. Some people can't make it to the game and read these boards for updates and scores.
Maybe try not to be so soft and sensitive? That's the problem with society.
Also, MA fans if you don't win state, please admit a team was better and it's not just because you have sophomores starting. Eat the crow and learn from it. If you do win state, enjoy it, but act like you've been there before.
EW is not at full strength..db/wr #23 and a very good lineman#50 is out as well. I thought i would go ahead and get our excuses ready Granitebear fan. I for one am taking it one game at a time. If someone had told me this bunch of BEAR mostly sophomores would be 11-0 and 8 shut outs I would have said no way. I have said earlier that I did not think they would win the SHIP this year. But I am hoping they will and if they get beat in the west that team could very well win the State Championship. Maybe Coach Wilmoth can get them to at least meet expectations next year...if he gets another shot. Adkins had them Cardinals believing before he left for MA..and they were playing some great ball.

MA is solid. Have ran through everyone they have played. Kinda like Albemarle in the 90s early 2k's. Very weak schedule..but cant help who is on your schedule.
