As if this needs to be said..

There are these things in western ky/tn.

I have talked with many people that have seen them. I have seen one outside Water Valley in western ky.

Seen one one in western tn not far from Jordan's liquor store on west state line.

5 or 6 people have seen them near these areas as well.

Was bigfoot there too?

**** off. You have been proven you have no clue about this subject. It would be for the best if you GTFO.

I always get a kick out of Fish and Wildlife when they talk about all the ignorant, inbreds that think they saw a Mt. Lion. Congrats on being one of "them".
The best part, there has never been one shred of evidence of a wild Mt lion in this state, and you have seen 4, and know 20 people who have seen them.:joy:
It's funny, 99% of people who think they have seen one, also do meth. Go back to the thread where you are slobbering all over Tim tebows junk you waterhead. You didn't see ****, and your dumb inbred friends didn't either.

Let's have it
There's proof of mountain lions previously existing in kentucky all over the internet. Even Daniel Boone commented on how many were here when he first came through. The Eastern part of the state is ideal habitat for them. The eastern mountain lion became officially extinct several decades ago, but there is quite a bit of evidence that other links of mountain lions are naturally repopulating through migration.

Would expect the runner up in the Prospect mayors race to know these things.

Lol, so the only proof you have is Daniel Boone's word. :joy:
You win I guess.

Cougars were here but those are extinct. The cougar in Obion County looks very healthy for a cougar that walked 500 miles. Likely not wild.

....and you conclude that from a photo? Just wondering.

Or, maybe, in that 500 mile trek, he got ripped and built up some strength. Just saying'.

I

Obviously we are gonna need to pass some leash laws since these damned big cat owners keep letting their cougars escape.

I knew a guy with a pet cougar that turned him loose because he could not afford to feed him. The cougars that wander are usually scrawny.

There was a mountain lion killed by wil
KY fish and wildlife provides evidence of mountain lions in Kentucky too. "While mountain lions were once common in Kentucky"
So we're suppose to believe photo evidence of a dead cougar killed in the state, the word of Daniel Boone and KYFW? :joy:

Nubb, I don't really even know how to answer your post. There have been two cougars in ky, BOTH are believed to be escaped pets. We are talking about wild animals. To date there has been ZERO evidence since the civil war of a wild Mt lion in ky. I don't know how it can be any clearer.
The link from fish and wildlife can't be any clearer that there has never been evidence of a wild Mt lion in ky in hundreds of years.

Daniel Boone lived here in the 1700's, you know when we actually had Mt lions and buffalo here. That's the point. I'm beyond shocked you didn't get it.
I'm shocked you don't get sarcasm. But then again after reading all your responses I'm really not surprised at all.

All you meth heads who think you have seen a Mt lion, read this from the United States fish and wildlife. Pay special attention to #7 where they say "even small populations of cougars such as those in flor and the Dakotas leave SUBSTANTIAL evidence ( tracks, photos, scat, hair, genetic samples, road kill, trapped or shot cougars).
Yet ky has never had the first piece of evidence of any of those. Yet people like stonewall, have seen 2 dozen, plus all his inbred family has each seen a handful. And you wonder why Fish and Wildlife laughs at you.

Also pay attention to the last confirmed cases of Eastern cougars ( Maine 1938) and (new brunswick 1932)......(that's Canada BBDK).

There is some good news for you meth junkies though. Biologist have been getting lots of trail cam pictures of a cougar coming this way, they have been getting handfuls of pictures from each state along the way. They are thinking that possibly could be this cougar in Tenn, that is the topic of this thread. If so, you might have your FIRST wild Mt lion in this area in hundreds of years.

This subject fascinates me because I work deep in the woods, unarmed, and often alone. I do not want to be kitty food. I showed the photos from Obion County to a wildlife biologist and asked their opinion. I respect their opinion although they cannot be certain. The biologist thought it was likely not wild.

Again, I cannot be sure either way. I do remember a railroad kill in Illinois that was borderline emaciated. That cougar looks like an apex predator. Apex predators do not travel. They eat and breed.

I will post an interview from the guru on this subject.

http://www.mountainlion.org/featureaudioclaynielsen.asp

"We've also started doing some human dimensions work. We did a survey project, surveying residents in Kentucky and North Dakota. So two states, very different parts of the country; North Dakota being on the kind of edge of cougar expansion. Kentucky, the animals haven't gotten there, even any of our dispersers haven't shown up there. And so we're trying to look at human attitudes and perceptions about these animals should they recolonize the Midwest. So those are the two main cougar related items that I'm working on right now."

I must not get your argument then. First you say there is zero evidence of cougars EVER living here. Now your saying that there was indeed cougars, but many years ago. I live in EKY, and have heard so many stories of people either seeing a cougar or getting them on their trailcam. Do I believe them? No. Not until I see one with my own eyes. I spend countless hours in the woods hunting and fishing every year and have never saw one, but I do believe it's a possibility, especially in this part of the state. The terrain here would be prime habitat for one. There was also a time when coyotes was non existent here, now the state is over populated with them.

People on the east of Lexington end claimed they had seen the elusive chupacabra a couple years back in Winburn park. People are mostly idiots.

We have been debating this for ten years on here. Nobody has ever disputed we once had them. The argument is whether they are here currently, or have been in 100+ years.
