What else happened?
We had 468 yards of offense, 324 passing yards, and 22 first downs. Yet somehow we only had 7 damn points until under 12 minutes were left in the game. That’s an almost criminal level of offensive inefficiency.
We’re now 19 games in to what has been an absolute abortion of an offensive system. A joke. We either hit a 40-50 yard pass, or we come nowhere close to the end zone. There is no plan B. The running game works, then we abandon it. Sometimes we hit the bomb and STILL don’t score, or get a FG. That’s not offense, it’s just playing powerball. There is no rhyme or reason. No rhythm. No running one play to set up the next.
We play a team tonight missing its whole secondary and having to play tons of soft zone. Blitzing every play because they have to. Do we see that, and work the intermediate passing game? Hell no, not until its way too late when they are in prevent.
You combine a head coach who can’t even get the basics right in end game playcalling before a FG attempt with one who was hired as an elite OC but still somehow has a horrible offensive philosophy and can’t find a decent QB in 2 years….what you’re left with is a bad head coach. No two ways about it.
And the results speak for themselves. 0-11 in SEC play. 1-12 against the Power 4. You won’t find any good head coach who ever started out that poorly in his first 2 years and redeemed himself.
I’ve seen enough.
