I honestly can't understand why people give that troll a platform to talk from.

But be sure to ask him if he thinks Mullen is still on the hot seat.

He wrote an article about the 9 game conference schedule back in March. See what his current thoughts are on that.

Since anyone can write an article for Bleacher Report does Barrett Saylee realize I am just as much an expert as he is?

Of course I would have never been stupid enough to say Mullen was on the hot seat.

Hey RabidDawg, instead of relying on stereotypes from 2009, put your money where your mouth is. http://bleacherreport.com/writer_application

If you have any questions about my resume, I'd be glad to answer them.

Also, if you think I said Mullen WAS ACTUALLY ON the hot seat, let's be real, you're just starting stuff for the sake of starting stuff (aka, trolling).

But I'll bet Barrett loves him some Captain Barnacles

Nah, we're off that show for now. Jake of Neverland Pirates fame is a pretty smart kid, and a good influence. Now that whiny little Caillou makes me want to throw things at the TV. That guy is horrible.

what at did you mean by this tweet, if Mullen was never on the hot seat?

https://mobile.twitter.com/BarrettSallee/status/396709921246302208

Dan Mullen has done nothing this year that's out of the ordinary. Still without a signature win. This hot seat was a LONG time coming...

Or this video, which listed Mullen as one of "3 SEC Coaches on the Hot Seat in 2012"?

We have traded tweets ...

Back when we 'discussed' your comments about Mullen's seat being way "hotter than Chizik's" a couple of years ago. that went well.

Since Mullen was hired in '09 there have been ~13 head coach changes in what is now the 14 team SEC. And ... Mullen, Saban, Richt, Pinkel, Spurrier & Miles are the only ones to still at the same schools.

Meanwhile ... Ark, Ky & UT have had 3 HCs each and Vandy has had 4.

Almost positive that tweet was one of several (ie: more than 140 characters) in a series discussing the topic.

Prior to the 2012 season (and prior to the Petrino, John L. scenario), who else should have been on a top 3 list?

You have to understand, some of those tweets and columns are catering to the Auburn loyalists who A) Despise Dan Mullen; B) Lap up anything negative about him; and C) View Barrett as one of their own. It would probably help BR's image and credibility if they didn't let fans of a school cover that school and/or that school's hated opponents. Barrett could write the most objective column in the history of columns and some fans of non-Auburn schools would find bias in it. To speak nothing of the pieces written where some of the bias does leak through. I don't read BR other than the occasional link posted here so I don't know if they have the same situation throughout the country, or if it's just in the SEC where this happens. Would an Washington State fan even care if a Oregon fan was writing columns about their coach?

So you're saying there's a context that lets you write off
Dan Mullen has done nothing this year that's out of the ordinary. Still without a signature win. This hot seat was a LONG time coming...
as 'I never said Mullen was on the hot seat and you're a troll if you think I did'?

You know, it's funny you bring up the term "trolling" because that's exactly what articles and videos like "these three coaches are on the hot seat" are for. I understand that Clicks is King in online media, and nothing gets clicks like getting a fanbase riled up. Actually, you get two fanbases worth of clicks out of that, because Ole Miss fans love to read their rival coach is on the hot seat.

ETA:
I also found this gem of a tweet from NYD 2013:

I've said Dan Mullen is overrated for years. Is it finally becoming more apparent?

https://twitter.com/BarrettSallee/status/286205222370545664

This obviously doesn't say he's on the hot seat, but it shows what Bulldog fans have known forever, that you're no fan of Dan. 90% of posters here would probably never recognize your name if not for many articles over the years with a negative slant toward Dan Mullen. So for you to suddenly play nice, write one good article about MSU when it looks like State's on track for a good season then come here and say 'I never said Mullen was on the hot seat' is just out of character. Stick to your guns, man. Dan is an overrated hack that's been on the hot seat every year he's been here.

Stop knighting for the douchenozzle. The fact that your username has "Auburn" in it isn't helping him.

No idea how it happened but I was watching TV and something referencing Bleacher Report came in. My kid asks me to change it to one of his shows, which I happily obliged, and the Octonauts were singing about the Creature Report.

Now every time that damn show is on I instead hear Bleacher Report during the tune.

Not trying to help him. Trying to help dickie see that the tweets and columns are basically a reflection of the mindset of the vast majority of the Auburn fanbase. That's why they get written and posted - so the Auburn loyalists will have something to RT and "Like." Follow the $$$$.

I also questioned how smart it is of BR to employ "superfans" to cover teams. If they are seriously into hiring journalists, as their application says, then I can't see how that's a good idea. (It's also a very liberal usage of the word journalist, but that's another story.) If they are into getting clicks, then it's probably a great business plan. I mean, if Bob Carskadon left MSU to work for BR and was assigned UM as one of his main teams to cover, would their fans even give him the time of day? No. But if Godfrey did it, mass clicking would ensue. He's one of theirs, Bob is not. Barrett is Auburn's. Most Auburn fans probably love him. Most other SEC fanbases tolerate him because they know where his heart is.

I don't understand the hate from Auburn people for Mullen or his wife. Dan could have made one phone call and Auburn wouldn't have won a BCSNCG in 2010. I honestly feel that Mullen was protecting Cam by not telling the NCAA the whole story.

Say that to any Auburn fan and see what you response you get. It will be something about State being the ones who offered money, not Auburn. Cam came there because he liked Auburn more and the OL was better. Plus it's Auburn and not Missississy State. Mullen is a yankee POS who can't beat anyone of note and the leghumpers deserve him. There's more, but you get the drift.

I get all that. He can write, tweet, editorialize and speculate whatever the heck he wants and I'll probably never see it until he reveals or manufactures a vendetta against Dan Mullen or starts spouting off against something else about MSU. Then it gets posted here or on Facebook or Twitter and I see it. I'm not just going to forget it, especially when a pattern emerges.

Does anyone remember Bobby Bozeman from Alabama? He wrote this gem of an "article" for the Student newspaper at Alabama in 2006:
http://csnbbs.com/showthread.php?tid=45715

I emailed the article to him twice. Once after we beat Alabama that same year, and again when Alabama lost to ULM the next season.
