MS is starting 6 juniors and a sophomore. Anyone else have this many underclassmen starting?

Loyola with all of the injuries. I believe 3 sophs started on the o-line against the Caravan. Maybe it was only 2 and their TE gilroy moved over to tackle. LA will be stacked the next couple of years.

Was talking about this last week with some Naz guys. They started 6 JR's and 2 Sophs on D vs ND. I think O had 1 Soph and 7 JR's too. They should be scary good next year.

GW has rolled a bunch of sophs and juniors on defense after the Debacle at Duchon. I see a new combo each week as Hetlet rebuilds on the fly.

Will know more after DGN but the young kids are scrappy and covering sideline to sideline.

Carmel Catholic has started a combination of six Jr's, Soph's and Frosh this season on defense, against some heady competition.
DL - Snell, Anderson and Strutzel - all Jr's
LB - Norton - Jr
Secondary - Baecoat (sp?) who is a Frosh and Fisher who is a Jr

With the season half over, the underclassmen that have been playing all season are no longer rookies. They have confidence, learned the plays and hopefully have been accepted by the older guys. Now is the time to just go out on the field and let it rip. The "we are young" mantras does not fly anymore.

Good point. However, there generally is a big difference between a 15 yo and a 17 yo strength and maturity wise. I was probably 40 lbs heavier as a senior and few inches taller.

I totally agree! Also as a forty something I'm probably 80#s heavier and just as strong.

I hear that! I'm about 80 lbs heavier and probably a bit shorter, but old man strength seems to be increasing. Must be all the scotch!

In all serious, good luck to the Hawks and Palatine this year. Both terrific programs and should both be there in the end for years.
