Nothing on here about this game?

It was a great atmosphere, great game tonight in Frankfort. Two heavyweights slugged it out right down to the final seconds. MS offense impressed me against a big physical defense. MS defense has gotten better every week of the playoffs.

Great final 4 in 8A. Forgive me but I'd love to see a MS/LA final. Looking forward to next weekend.

Two great teams and programs put on a show. One more year with merging two programs at LWE will help for sure. I will give credit to the kids and COACHES at LWE for melding the group in a short period of time. Putting the North/ East banter to rest is progress for the district. What a game. MS backed down from nothing and had the swagger to pull it out. East...converting two 4 th and long with the game on the line...classic. If this game goes OT I liked the Griffins chances. Big plays by MS were the difference... Along with size at the receiving position. QB...great decision making. No complaints but would like to know if the opening series QB sack ruled an incomplete pass? Other views? It set the early momentum I felt. Can this please be a non con going back to the early 2000's. Would have liked to see more MS Folks in the stands. Very similar game for East a few years back in Edwardsville. Good to see olde faces and Mr. Mau. JR66? Scrambler?

Yeah 3rd play of the game I want to see the incomplete pass too. My 1st reaction was clear fumble,...

Having that said LWE fought like hell all game but MS was slightly better.

East came out the best personnel-wise after the district reshuffling. Its numbers were second to none. The coaching staff was a perfect blend of exceptional East and North coaches. The 'Drive' gave the team more attention, which I believe was certainly welcomed. The players I spoke to said that state was absolutely the goal.

With that said, a loss to HF wasn't that bad, but East still led by two touchdowns early and couldn't close the deal. The Bradley game was an atrocity. I've been a Bradley fan over the past few weeks but no way in hell does it have more talent than East. I didn't watch the Maine South game to comment too much on it, but East should have been a top four seed given all the talent it has.

You can rest assured that a final four is a goal every year at LWE. Briefly, the HF game was a win if an inside slant is thrown. The passer took heat and rushed the throw. Bradley... a cluster with 28 pts. In the first quarter from turnovers.. Happens. Maine South is Maine South...they lost to Loyola by one point...you may have heard of them. The Drive is a reality show kind of like what the White House has become. The best of North and East , 136 on the playoff roster, you can only play 11 on the field at a time. North was 6A with Richards being the highlight victory last season losing to Hinsdale South who had a QB and running back Duo superb. Maine South is a yearly powerhouse. Talent takes time to develop if systems change, learning, adapting, overcoming. I will not sell LWE short after the first year of the merger especially when the school is new for 60 per cent of the students. Did you see a Hylton or Fuessel on the roster for East this year talent wise?

What I learned about a merger is year two is tougher than year one, especially when you don't win it all. This off season will probably be more interesting than this past year. In the end LWE is and has been a good program for a while. They will get it figured out.

I did not mention Bradley B. Who had two studs that are once in a decade type players. H-F ... Let's have a show of hands for those that think LWE had more D1 talent on the field vs. the Vikings. Underachieved at LWE this year is a laughable comment from someone who played at LW North and knows how difficult it is to advance come playoff time. The Griffins family this year deserves more respect than that WS, from fans and family alike. Hats off to those who have players on the field and supported LWE this year.

Like I said, it's tougher to put together than to split apart.

Great job LWE, coaches players and parents.

I disagree completely. LWE will be better than ever next year. They lose one O and one D lineman to graduation and their replacements are capable of filling their roles. They are also losing but one of their running backs and picking up another who will be even better than him.
Next years core group has been playing together for at least 8 years and have always been winners. Mixed with the talent that North brought will only make them tougher to beat. The Sophomores and Juniors from this year have all bonded together and one more offseason will make them stronger than ever.

Maybe true. I am not close enough to speak specifically on LWE. I witnessed a merger that was worse year two. The first year people are more understanding compared to year two. Good luck as LWE routinely do well so things may be different.
