Barrington 41, Maine South 27 surprises me based on MS's first two games...Although Montini got spanked again tonight I see, so maybe week 1 wasn't that impressive afterall.

Fremd beating New Trier by 17 surprised me too.

My Palatine Pirates were a little flat tonight, beat Glenbrook South 34-13. Very workman-like victory. Could've scored a couple more times but didn't. Second week in a row they cleared the benches for a good part of the second half and got a lot of guys some valuable experience.

The problem at Maine South is too many people drank the Koolaid the seniors father was serving. If a team can contain Fotis Kokosioulis and put a player in front of Leongas (he is too short) he cant see where he is throwing, they will win. Its that simple. I know some people are up the fathers backside but look at the sideline footage from the other night. The view of the interception makes my point. His form needs a lot of work too. He has to lean way back and use his whole body to throw the ball and that means he will loose sight of the receiver. Sorry but this is just what I see from the sidelines. Also too many points are being aloud. This team does not have the comeback capability they once had. I don't think MS will have a problem with the next two crossover games but lets see what happens with the CSL.

1. How many TDs have you thrown in your life?

2. What does "too many points aloud" mean?

Btw I have never met the father or am I up his backside.

Who the heck is "the father"? Do I need to be a MS insider to be able to understand the entire post?

oh ok, re-reading it with that info I can decifer the full post.

I don't know anything about MS other than what I read here and in the papers but My question would be.... If you thought you knew the elixer to "shut down" your own offense would you really want to broadcast it? Why not make other teams and coaches work for that info?

I'm Not saying the above is true or not true - just asking the intent behind the post. I get the feeling there is an ax to grind behind the scenes with playing time (starter, backup Varsity JV etc)

Yes, we are alouding way too many points.

We have a home game this week. IF you have the stones, please take this oppurtunity to introduce yourself. There is nothing more lamented than an anonymous coward.

Most of us are here to support our teams as best we can, maybe throw a jab here and there, but for the most part pretty innocent.

Whatever beef you have, either man up, or shut up.

Wow I leave for a week and all hell breaks out. I think the problem here is that the head coach of MS let the seniors father coach the winter 7 on 7 team. Big mistake to let a parent get involved. The junior got very little playtime along with a few other boys. But it happened and is in the past. LET IT GO !! As far as the recipe to shut down the offence goes, I think coaches look at the video and know what to do. But knowing what to do and executing are two different things. There are a lot of armchair quarterbacks in this forum for sure. Everyone just grow a thicker skin and enjoy the rest of the season. The outcome of each game will be the outcome. All we can hope for, and I hope this means EVERYONE, is that none of the boys get hurt and the young boys turn into young men with the help of some pretty noble coaches by the end of the season.
GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
