MSU Android App not working

When I try to open my MSU (Premium, a.k.a. paid-for) app on my android phone a window pops up that says,
"Get the NEW Mississippi State App! Thank you for using the Mississippi State App. This application is no longer available; please go to the App Store to download the latest version."

Then when I go to the Play Store (old Android Market), there is no new app to download.

Did the original app have an expiration date? If so, they didn't tell me when I paid for it. I've never heard of an app doing that. Plus I'm going to be severely ticked if they want me to pay again for an app I've already paid for once. Why would the geniuses in our Athletic Department disable my paid-for app and then tell me to go download a new one that isn't available? One hand doesn't know what the other one is doing. This is the type of amateur BS I had hoped we were now paying enough to get away from. Right now I am pretty upset with and embarrassed about our Athletic Department. Of course, it's Labor Day and there's no one to call because they're all taking the day off.

OK, I finally found the app in the play store listed as the "MSU Athletics" app; not as the "Mississippi State App" as they had stated in the original app that I paid for. The Play Store lists the paid app and the free app. On my laptop I opened the page for the paid app and the new one listed says that it expires at the end of the 2012-2013 season. Didn't see anything like this last year when I bought the original one. Just another example of the Athletic Department milking the fans for every drop they can squeeze out of us. I had paid for the app last year but this time I will not. I am downloading the free app and they can kiss it. The paid app wasn't really worth the 5 bucks anyway. The only difference is that you can "Watch on-demand video from the HailState.tv library and enjoy access to live audio (requires HailState.tv subscription)" This is stupid and punitive to have to pay an additional $5 for my mobile app because I'm already paying $100 for the required online video subscription. It doesn't cost them one penny more to stream to a phone than it does to a computer. It's just another way of ripping off the fans who support them.

I only bought the app last year because it was MSU. I won't make that mistake again. I recommend you don't, either unless you want to listen to the audio of a game on your phone and even then you'll have to pay at least $100 (video) or $50 (audio) for the HailState subscription for the $5 phone app to work. What a rip-off!

The reason I didn't buy the premium one back in January when I got my latest phone is it specifically said that it expired at the end of the season last year.

I guess I must have missed that part. Now I know better. Thanks.
