We unveil this week's winners and losers.
Mississippi State: Just a week ago the Bulldogs' stock was about as pretty as that of a bailout-loving financial company. But this week the Bulldogs appear to golden. The Bulldogs began the week with a pair of wins over Valparaiso, but did the most damage over the weekend with a home series win over South Carolina. Could Cohen already be changing the dynamic of State's program?

Auburn: There's not much love lost when the Tigers meet Alabama in any sporting event, much less one of the big three such as baseball. So when the Tigers beat the Crimson Tide 8-7 last week, Auburn fans immediately took notice. After taking care of the Tide, the Tigers responded over the weekend with a road series win over struggling Tennessee. Welcome to the SEC, John Pawlowski.

Arkansas: Consistency finally has arrived for the Razorbacks. Arkansas began last week with a tough loss to gritty Centenary, but made a huge statement over the weekend by sweeping Florida at home to begin SEC play. With good series wins over California and Florida the past two weekends, the Hogs are confident and can't wait to play Nebraska and Auburn this week.

Alabama: It wasn't too long that everyone was laughing at the Crimson Tide for losing a home series to lowly Southeast Missouri State to start the season. But now no one is laughing, especially coaches in the SEC. For the first time this season the Crimson Tide played to its potential against Georgia over the weekend. The Crimson Tide cruised in the first two games of the series before dropping the series finale. I think it's safe to say the Tide is back in business.

Losers

South Carolina: At the beginning of the week the Gamecocks weren't real happy not to be ranked. But now they'll just take being under consideration. South Carolina began the week with a mid-week split against Wofford and Old Dominion. The weekend, though, was an absolute disaster. The Gamecocks dropped the series opener against Mississippi State 13-6 before splitting the final two games of the series. The Gamecocks now have falling stock.

Florida: There was a time when everyone really liked the Gators. Yeah, that was about four weekends ago against Louisville. Though the Gators started the season in impressive fashion, they now have much to prove. UF didn't have a mid-week game last week but failed to impress on the road as Arkansas swept them without too much trouble. UF now must find a way to regroup before the wheels start falling off the wagon.
