USM just released their baseball schedule and it looks like they will play us on March 2nd at Trustmark Park. Does anyone know when our full schedule will be released?

This needs to be a staple of the schedule. I'd even say a whole weekend series/tournament down there if we can make it happen.

You also want to play a few neutral site games in basketball and baseball anyway.

Biloxi would be perfect site for one of the early season tournaments. Could model after the old Busch/Winn Dixie Showdowns that were played in the Superdome. Have State, USM and UM vs teams from another state.

Football teams plays 7 games maximum, generally all on the weekend. Baseball plays nearly 40 home games, with many during the week in front of slim crowds. And football has much more access, 62K seats vs. the baseball stadium (whatever capacity you want to call it).

And a tournament is a tournament, it's all about the star power. Plus we get to throw a bone to our bigger fanbase areas. It would need to take the place of one our road series/tournaments for sure.

Seriously? One is definitely not like the other.

There are many reasons to play on the coast, among them, it gives high schoolers (potential recruits) in the south part of the state a chance to come to a game or two.
