what kind of player is Dee Bost. Is he a driver scorer, pass first, or deep shooter? How does his game compare to Chris Warren?

Also do you pronounce his name Bost like Host or Bost like a yankee would say Cost with an o like in modest?

Dee Bost is a first year guard from the Mississippi high school ranks... Earned status on the 2006-07 SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll with a 3.30 grade point average in accounting... Saw limited action in 15 appearances for the Bulldogs as a true freshman a year ago... Member of three Class 5A state championship teams (two in golf and one in basketball) as a two-sport letterman at Madison Central High School... His father, Joe Iupe Jr., served as a golf team captain at Mississippi State in the 1970s and is a member of the MSU Athletic and Mississippi Sports Halls of Fame.

2 guard in high school and prep school. He said in a couple of interviews that he played some point in prep school but MSU is his first time to play point fulltime. He is a classic combo guard. Mentally he is very strong. He was the MVP of the state championship games in football and basketball. He has been pretty good the last few games at taking control of the pace of the game but earlier in the year he tried to do too much.

can knock down the three with regularity. He's becoming a true point guard for us that doesn't force stuff or turn the ball over. I am extremely surprised at how well we're playing right now and hope it continues. We'll have some bad games, I'm sure, but the core of this team is most certainly solid. If we continue to improve we will be competing for SEC Championships for the next 2-3 years.

...as in cost.

He is Dee Bost (as in Cost). He had never played PG before he arrived at MSU, except in a Summer Camp here in Starkville after his Junior year in high school. He is faster, taller, and quicker than Chris Warren. Chris Warren is probably a better 3 point shooter at this point. He is 6-2 170. He plays exceptional defense. He is so fast, he has shot the ball, missed a 3 point shot off the rim, ran the ball down and saved the ball from going out of bounds. He is a streaky 3 point shooter, and his range is NBA range, in fact it seems he prefers to shoot from 25 feet. He played Power Forward in high school and was the MVP of both the NC State AA Basketball Championship Game and the Championship Football Game. He was also the leading scorer and Team MVP as a 2 guard for Hargrave Military Academy, which went undefeated his season there. His forte offensively is driving the basketball down the court faster than the opposition can set up their defenses. Against Arkansas he had 17 points, 5 assists, and 2 turnovers, plus shut down Fortson, limiting him to 5 points and 4 assists. Against Alabama he had 15 points, 10 assists and 3 turnovers. Against Vanderbilt, he had 16 points and 6 assists with 1 turnover. He keeps getting better and better as he develops in his brand new role as a point guard.

but I have ahard time believing he is any quicker or faster than Warren. Im not sure how Warren will be after the knee surgery, but up until the injury he was pretty damn fast/quick. I havent seen Bost play so I wont say he is slower or anything, Its just going to take a lot for me to believe that he is faster/quicker.

I found Warren to be completely out of control especially when penetrating the lane. Bost, at least right now, is playing like a senior. I would still give the edge that Warren is a tad faster but I take Bost on penetration over Warren. Warren is probably a little better shooter but is a lot more streaky.

If he can keep from forgetting how he plays, I think we could go 13-3 or even better. However, I will not be surprised to see Bost go through a 4-5 game tough streak when things just aren't working. That said, I very much like our chances at LSU this Wednesday. There aren't a lot of teams playing with more energy than the Mississippi State Bulldogs right now. Vandy had a dazed look, like they'd been beaned with a 2 by 4 as the game ended on Saturday. We kept coming and coming, and they got no rest.

...can understand.

Why kind of player is Dee Bost? I'll answer it in the only language you'll understand:

Dee Bost is shaping up to be to MSU basketball what J. Snead is to OM football.

...that, with apologies beforehand, I picked off another board:

"Just thought I would share a comment concerning Dee Bost. Every morning Joe Fisher, the voice of the Vanderbilt Commodores, is on the radio giving a quick update on recent events. He had nothing but good to say about Dee Bost. He talked about how fast Dee was and that he is probably the best freshment PG in the league.

He said that one of the referees came over to the table in front of him during one of the media timeouts and rolled his eyes and motioned with his hand up and down the court. He said that the game was being played very fast and it was hard to keep up!

Dee is proving to be really special already. I can't wait to watch him get better and better. It just gives me chill bumps to think about it!"

Is Dee faster or quicker than Warren? I can say this, he plays the game faster.
