I would like to invite anyone living or that can attend a meeting in the Memphis area to join our bracket contest. It is very fun and has some different twists to enhance your enjoyment of the tourney. The rules are listed below as well as a link to an email address to RSVP a spot.
First of All let me state it is for entertainment purposes ONLY....but there will be a prize pool if all agree. The assumed entry fee will be $120. It is broken down in (3) seperate sections to win. I will detail each below:
Section (A) - This section of the contest consists of the regular " Bracket Challenge" as you all are use to seeing. You will be awarded points for game correctly picked throughout the entire tourney, as well as the Bonus Points for every UPSET you pick correctly. ( example: a #12 seed beats a #5 seed in round (1)....you receive (1) point for the round one correct pick and (12) points for the upset......this will be throughout the tourney. ) The person with the highest point total at the end of the NCAA Tourney, wins the Section (A) portion of the contest. This portion consists of 1/3 of the total entry fees received.
Section (B) - This section of the contest consists of a "Random Drawing" of the Top (5) Teams in each region for a Winner take all portion of the Section (B) part of the contest. If there are more or less than 20 people entered into the contest, we will add or subtract (Seeded) teams to the draw. This section of the contest will be awarded also 1/3 of the total entry fees received.
Section (C) - This section of the contest consists of a " Team Draft" of the players on teams in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tourney. We will be meeting at a predetermined location in the Memphis Area Wednesday night before the beginning of the tourney on Thursday. We will draw for draft order and will conduct a (5-Man Team Roster) draft of players in the NCAA Tourney. Based on how many points each of your players score throughout their time in the tourney, will determine the total points your team scores in this portion of the contest. The team entry scoring the MOST POINTS by the end of the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship will win this portion of the contest. As teams are eliminated from the tourney...you will NOT BE ABLE to add additional players. So pick wisely, as the team will carry your banner throughout the tourney. The entry winning this section of the contest, Section (C), will win 1/3 of the total entry fees received.
In the event of ANY TIES....each entry for which there is a tie in that particular section of the contest will be put into a hat for a random drawing to be held at the location of the meeting of the original selection process. All decesions are final and the manager of this contest will make any and all determinations and rulings. All entry fees collected will be held in an account or location agreed upon by all participants. Most likely the location of the meeting itself.
This "Bracket Challenge" works best if the entrys total either (16), (20), (24), (28), (30) or (32)...if there is more interest than that, I will offer people the opprotunity to partner up with each other to offer a TEAM ENTRY into the "Bracket Challenge Contest"....I offer this up as a way to have fun so if you have nothing better to do than shot out a smartass comment, save us ALL the time and try and hold your small witted input. This can be fun and will be conducted in a professional manner. If you are interested, please RSVP by Tuesday Night to the following email address: [email protected], I will give out the location and time of the Draft Meeting on Wednesday Night. Please refer to the back page of the USA Today Sports Section or in the special tourney section for a total list of teams and players in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
I hope we can put together a group to enjoy this contest, I have already compiled about 6-people interested. I look forward to seeing if we can fill our required amount of people. We need at least 16-people to make it work out. Thanks for reading and....... GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
