We "seem" to not be clutch, but when allowed to use all 3 outs we score at or above what is expected in college baseball.

Lastly, it's important to remember the times we mess up bunting and go down 0-2 then have to hit go into the Didn't Bunt category. So the splits are even farther apart.

Bases loaded 0 outs scores 88% of the time.

As we have proved this weekend, traditional numbers don't apply worth **** for this team. If we could guarantee an exactly 1 run inning after the leadoff man (or two) reaches, would you take it at this point? I would.

No, traditional numbers don't apply for this team. But this team makes it even that much more important not to bunt. We tried to bunt the runner over 3 times last night and failed. That's the worst of both options. Not only do we not advance the runner, but we give the defense a free out.

Isn't the real question, why is our BA w/ RISP so much lower after a sac bunt?

Another question is how can a team that supposedly works so hard on the bunting game be so terrible at it.

By terrible, do you mean scoring from bunting or actually advancing the runner?

I meant actually advancing the runner. We absolutely suck at it. But the other applies too. I can't count how many times this weekend I've said, there's no way we could not score now, only to watch us find another way not to score.

I have no data but its seems like we are pretty good at getting the bunt down and we almost never lose the lead runner. Britton has had some issues lately but other than that we have been good in the bunt game it SEEMS

Agreed. Seems like our issues scoring runs is what happens after we get the guys in scoring position.

How many times have we tried to bunt only to take the bunt off when the count gets to 0-2 or 1-2? THAT'S how we fail to get the bunt down and we do it a lot.

Seriously? It happened at least 3 times yesterday and once today (today's bunt was taken off with only 1 strike though).
