Mullen's offense has had three straight games with over 500 ypg. I can't find where we've had that sort of stretch in the recent past.
Can anyone confirm if we've ever managed that during our first 3 games in any season prior to 2014?

4 straight if you count the Liberty Bowl over Rice

My stats were way wrong. Sorry for the confusion.

Original Post - Another thing to note, and I've hope I've got my statistics right here... but I'm pretty sure Dak has had a historic two game stretch as far as the SEC is concerned. Only 3 QBs have had 200 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a game in SEC history. Manziel did it 7 times. Tebow did twice. Neither did it in back-to-back games. Cam Newton never did it. Dak has done it back-to-back games, and again once last year, for 3 total times.

That is just incredible to me that only 3 QBs in SEC history have done that. I would have thought more like 10-15 would have.

Just imagine if Miller would have ever suited up for the Rebs. He was the best qb to ever come out of the state. They'd probably be top 5 right now.

ETA - not Romaro, Maikhale (sp?) Miller.

Yea that's incorrect.

Can't speak for other players, but Archie did it at least once. 1969 vs Alabama - 436 passing, 104 rushing.

You have your stats wrong. The stat that came out was that he was one of three SEC QBs to throw 4 TDs and have 100 yards rushing in the same game since something like 1996.

Thanks for the clarification

My curiosity got the best of me this morning too, so I sent a note to the people at sports-reference.com and they sent back this link showing the list of QBs who have done it since 2000. Quite a long list and not nearly as exclusive as I once thought.

Archie was so good one game counted as 2??? Reading is tuff... I believe the original statement had to do with BACK TO BACK games of doing it.

Not saying this statement is correct or not but damn, dude. Just be sure to give it a minute before you jump in on stating Black Bear stats.

No you are wrong.

Archie was so good one game counted as 2??? Reading is tuff... I believe the original statement had to do with BACK TO BACK games of doing it.

Not saying this statement is correct or not but damn, dude. Just be sure to give it a minute before you jump in on stating Black Bear stats.

The original statement had to do with greater than 200 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a SINGLE GAME. He claimed that only 3 QBs in the SEC had ever done that, Dak, Manziel and Tebow. He then proceeded to claim that Dak was the only one to do it in back to back games.

So, for your reading comprehension test, there are two claims here:
1) Only 3 SEC QBs have ever thrown for 200+ yards and rushed for 100+ yards in a SINGLE GAME.
2) Dak is the only one to have done so in CONSECUTIVE GAMES.

I refuted the first claim, while ignoring the second claim since it is dependent on his first claim.

Thanks for the reading comprehension lesson, though.

Isn't it a great day to be a Bear on a Bulldog message board? If you want to get particular, his original statement said that it has been a historic 2 game stretch. Then he went on to describe that only 3 QBs has done it. Then he returned to his original point of how it has never been done by a QB in 2 back to back games.

So, you can claim to be right, but you are still wrong. And even if you were ever right, you are still wrong. Because you are still a douche bear on a bulldog message board that took less than an hour to come running with your black bear god archie stats.

Yes, one comment while in traffic on the way to work is obviously coming to the rescue.

Since you seem so adamant to be a jackass, let's break his quote down even further, because now I'm just bored.

Another thing to note, and I've hope I've got my statistics right here...
He admits that he might be wrong, meaning that he wants someone to say whether he is correct or not.
but I'm pretty sure Dak has had a historic two game stretch as far as the SEC is concerned
This is known as a conclusion: "a judgment or decision reached by reasoning." So, what are his claims that lead him to this conclusion? First,
Only 3 QBs have had 200 yards passing and 100 yards rushing in a game in SEC history. Manziel did it 7 times. Tebow did twice.
Second,
Neither did it in back-to-back games. Cam Newton never did it. Dak has done it back-to-back games, and again once last year, for 3 total times.

So, actually, I am right, that he is wrong. I am also right that you were wrong.

He has edited his original comment; you have just been a dick.

Guess what? It is okay for me to comment on here. As you can see, I don't comment often. I was simply trying to correct one stat on here.

You seem to have some issues interacting with others.

We played LSU in November in 2012...

I think it was related to the schedule changes that had to be made to accommodate Aggy and Mizzou.

For years, LSU was the last game before the Egg Bowl. That got changed when Carolina and Arkansas joined the SEC.

I think this is the first year we have not played Arkansas the next to last weekend since the mid 90's.
